Great tutorial, im from Colombia and your english is easier to understand unlike anothers tutorials. The only thing that bothered me was the resolution, 720p is very low to view the tools in the interfaz. Thanks bro

I was keen to follow this, and I'm a bit of an amateur at Illustrator, but it wasn't clear how you started. Was the number 16 a font or custom drawn? It would be nice if you started this from the very beginning and explained with more clarity. Great channel, I've subbed!

Hello Matt you can use any font and still get to this effect. Try Teko font. its free. Google "Teko" This particular number is from our pack. schoolofracinggraphics.com/product/vector-racing-number-set-16/ Hope this helps. We typically wont start each video at the very beginning to prevent the videos from being long. This particular video is about creating inner shadows not number construction. If you would like to learn more about learning how to build numbers from scratch. Hello Kim, Do you have Adobe Illustrator installed? Once you do you have to open panels that you use from the top menu > Window. Everything you see on my screen is found there. Let me know if you need anything else.

Curious as how you designed the number so when you change the colors ie from the golds to the reds or blues that the inner offset path changes with it.

@@schoolofracinggraphics yah so its around 24:42, its the path inside the white stroke, between the number fill, it looks like another path which changes when you change the fill color.

@@motostar508 I was then replacing it in the "Recolor Artwork" Tool. Whatever is selected on the art board will be changed when using the tool as long as you replace the color just like I was showing. Or you can change the color by clicking and adjusting the global swatch. Wherever that color is used through the art board it will change to your newly adjusted color.

You can do the same thing in iracing. Simply size the pattern down and then add alpha channels.

Hi how strong is your computer to handle these large files? What would you recommend to get? I have a ryzen 3 with 8gig ram and 250 ssd, but im batteling lol

I would definitely upgrade. I'm not a computer expert but 8gb of ram sounds like you bought that computer when the mayflower landed. Im running 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 32 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 AMD FirePro D700 6 GB

Is there anyway you can record your videos in 1080p? when I play them back it only allows for 720p and its hard to read the layers and finer print ie sponsors when I blow it up on my screen full size.

After you do this to one shape as well, I would recommend saving it as a graphic style (if you are using illustrator) so that it is a one-click option to make any shape have the same effects as well. But great and informative video as always.

Hello. If I wanted to design my own grapbics for my quad what design software would I use. Is there any decent free graphic design software or even diyer software that doesnt cost so much. I just want something to help design a sample to help show a professional what I want.

Anyway you could do a quick video on offset paths for text and how to make the offset paths path editable. Like the points. When I do it in the appearance tab the offsets aren't editable like the shape of them. I can only change size and color.
