I'm a cameroonian and English and French is the official language, I live in the English section of the country, French is taught in all schools here but I am going to the university without knowing how to make sentences in French, it seems like everyone in the English part of the country has that problem, French is just something they are forcing on us. I have already learned Chinese well and can speak it within 2 years. But French for almost 20 years, I just know how to translate every independent word but find it hard to make sentences. The worst part is that when you go to French speaking cities like douala and Yaoundé mainly douala, people don't speak English there the people are saying English is very hard, most people can't even speak basic English sentences. How can we be united as a country. First we have more than 400 ethnic languages, and two official language, most people in the locality will speak ethnic languages your neighbor from a different ethnicity does not understand what you are saying. Then to further divide the country we have 2 more official language used mainly in media and business. We in the English section don't know what is going on in the French speaking section and they don't know what is going on in our side too. I speak Kenyang(mother tongue), pidgin, English and Chinese. I will never learn French
