You did those chutes before the cave like a boss! .. Ive missed the whole summer with a PCL injury from a black trail in Vic Park (Sneaky Ridge), when my front wheel got snagged between 2 rocks mid turn towards a sketchy b-line rooty drop, on Sep4 last year.. Only just gotten back into riding the last 2 weeks.. But the day b4 i did my PCL i did Double Vision, it was after wed had a really wet winter & many that rutted righthander chute before the cave was so sketch ay! I had to carry my bike around it, the left-hander chute before that was fun as though! Go pro footage doesn't do it justice to show how steep it is.. Also you did well to almost complete the cave turn, i was happy just to avoid that rock at the bottom that catches alot of people haha! .. At the moment eveything's so wet i just wouldnt even attempt it til late spring. Given how slick even Looserider is, i think it will be months before Double Vision is doable for anyone but expert riders.. Anyway sick riding ya did good on quite alot of sketchy parts on that track..

If your in the windy city, and you've never ridden a Black Diamond (NZ Grade 5) ... mmmm this probably shouldn't be your 1st one... Vertigo... Now there's an easy G5.... except maybe for that roll under the bridge... and the stepped zigzag (though it looks like that has been worn into more of a trench... Maybe I should do that one again.... but it also is a path less trodden... so you'll need a wingman (or woman) to laugh at you when you fall off or walk through a feature.... maybe not that one either... Red Rocks old exit... Actually easy... apart from the rocky slope at the end... and the gorse... and the remoteness.... and the man eating sheep (oh wait that's me eating dinner after... did I mention the climb to get there... 10k from the exit... 5 if you go up the Tip Track (Takes me an hour pushing my concrete DH bike)... and the fairly mediocre run down getting ther (There's potential for Wellington's longest unbroken (almost) janky run from Radome to Redrocks I made a KML of)... ok so maybe not that one either... Perhaps the "Wall of Death"... Hey I did that on a big frame seat up Milazo steel frame Crazy Horse with 2nd hand 1" (because of the bent stanchions) Rockshox... but it's remote... and short... (I suggest starting at the top of "Town Belt Ridge" and at least having a look at the almost hidden "Karatane Jumps"... soooo... ok the easiest G5 but a little lacklustre coming in at about 180 meters long... V, TTS, Damiens... in a word.. "Tree Roots" ok in 2 words "Lots of tree roots".. and possibility of a poke to the eye on your way tumbling to the bottom... ok not them... which leaves my choice... MrX and on through Deliverance. Thanks to Bob you can divert past the (really G6) feature at the top, put a foot down over a couple of the nasties on the way down to Deliverance Valley and (ok maybe walk the Pigs Tail) The view is nothing like anything else in Wellington.. but again.. Take a wingman.. And the track back up (Salvation) is short enough that you get there in about 30 mins and long enough that's it's not too steep for the energy challenged like myself. (Look for videos for the entrance to MrX.. it's over the 1st rise North from Wrights Hill Parade ground.)

was at Glentress yesterday and enjoyed the blues on a hardtail. Is the red do-able on a hardtail? :)
@tberg16675 жыл бұрын
kenzohkw red is do able
@worldwidemtb5 жыл бұрын
Yeah the red is totaly doable on a hard tail. The rocky sections right at the start are the hardest part, and can all be rolled through or avoided using B lines to the right. There are technical rooty sections further down which will be a challenge but otherwise no problem. The black is actually the same, just a lot longer and a lot of climbing.
