My Bugera T-50 50 watt Infinium amp head does not have external fuses. I do not know why this man in his video says the Bugera T-50 50 watt amp head he's working on does! Well, anyway he calls it a "rear fuse", which to me sounds like he's saying it's located on the back side rear of the amp. This is what he said: When reading from the comment which is located immediately under the video screen image he wrote: "In this video I repair a Bugera Tube Amplifer. The tubes and rear fuse had been replaced but the unit would not turn on properly. I review why it's best practice to pull fuses out of circuit when testing to avoid missing a blown fuse".

Lock time makes a cyano with an activator that looks like a magic marker. The trick to it is the prep work. Clean very well with soap and water. Dry well. You'll be tempted to use alcohol. Acetone ,or other chemicals and at times they will work but they can leave a residue which can cause the bond to fail. I've had very good luck welding it. I've welded about every type of plastic you can find. The trick is knowing what type plastic youre working with. The temp and repair material can make a big difference in your success in many types of plastics

GRA Services has PE Fusion. It can and will make a permanent bond with HDPE. It will also bond HDPE to other substances such as aluminum, steel your roommates forehead when he pisses you off and passes out without locking his door.

Please do not power on an amp with a power tube section without a speaker, the only case if it has a build in attenuator and it is in the 0W position. Ok in other positions, but full power it will survive due there is a closed circuit but mismatched resistance...
@PeterDad6024 күн бұрын
If you do not play through your tube amp it is unlikely to blow the transformers or cause any damage as long as you turn the power and standby switches off after a few moments. I have many times turned my amps on and even turned up the volume knob and connected my guitar and strummed the strings only to hear silence. I checked and saw that I had not connected the speaker cables. I would shut down the amp immediately. Once the speaker cables had been connected I powered up my amp and was able to play-and never had any damage to any of my amps. My situation is that I have many tube amps and only one full stack of two 16 ohm 412 speaker cabs so I must remove the cables from the last amp I played through and then connect them to the present amp I wish to play through. I'm 74 and even though I am very careful, I have forgotten to connect the speaker cables at least 4 times in the last 8 years of so. I play every day and have been doing so for over a decade. I also must always be sure of the ohm selector switch settings on every amp every time I connect to a different amp as I do have other speakers and it's possible to select a different ohm range when I use the different speaker cabs two 2x12 cabs one is 4 ohms and the other is 8 ohms, and three 16 ohm 1x12 speaker cabs, which sometimes I use two 16ohm 1x12 cabs to make a single 8 ohm speaker cab set up. So I am saying accidents do happen and as long as a person acts quickly it is likely that no damage shall come to the tube amps. I do think that if you play very loud for a long time and you have not matched the cab ohms load to the power amp ohm output then yes you can blow a transformer or perhaps something else in your amp. So don't do that. Always match up the ohms of the speaker cabs total load to the correct tube power amp speaker output ohm load rating.

Instead of glue try Friction Stir Welding, place something that looks like a metal drawer knob in a drill and use the heat generated from friction to weld the seams together.

My HDPE wheelbarrow was completely split and fragmented across both front bolts that fasten to the arms. It takes time because your working with a black powder and glue adhesive. Its called Q-Bond. $25.00/kit. Two botyles of glue and one botyle black powder for plastics and a gray bottle for wood, metal, glass ect. Worked like a charm. Very strong. Use it for hauling split wood. Throwing it in from 10 fert away is not a good idea. Still load wood but treat it as it should be used.

Try JB weld original (not plastic)... After sanding the surface
@harveyfloyd60457 ай бұрын
Just a little addition. Others have noted to scorch (blue flame treat) the HDPE, etc. I did this, following the Triumph Boat manufacture's instructions. The J-B Weld easily came apart and peeled off, just like in this video. . . It appears to the be same as a more expensive, other named two part epoxy system. . .
@jeffk31926 ай бұрын
I believe that flame treating this thickness of HDPE should work out quite well. The key to success is checking the wettability of the surface to determine if you've flame treated long enough. Just put a drop of water on the surface and tilt/try to move the droplet across the bonding area. If the water spreads/sheets across the surface without beading up you've treated it long enough.

I have joined HDPE together, in fact it was black starboard just like you used. It was done successfully with both epoxy and Methacrylate adhesive after passing a flame across the surfaces. I used two blocks 1-1/2" square, they are joined face to face not edge to edge but now after 5+ years I still cant break them apart with a vise and large wrench to twist them or a hammer. I also tried this with urethane adhesive and it failed miserably

No idea if JB Weld works on HDPE but you didn't really prove it did or didn't with your tests. For one, you didn't try both techniques and the one you did, you didn't do it the way they said. 150 grit is a lot different than 120 grit. Pretty sure the idea was to make the surface rough so the glue has grooves to fill and cling to. Personally I would have scuffed the crap out of the two surfaces with a file to give the glue a fighting chance. It somewhat held on the clamped one and you sanded those to a shine. I was disappointed that you didn't try the heating method. Another possible option would be using nitric acid as a primer. Can't say for certain but nitric acid does start breaking down hdpe instantly at 50 degrees celsius. There is also TAP Poly-Weld Adhesive which I've only seen advertised but tapplastics.com claims it can bond hdpe. Whether it's true or not is the bigger question. I'd guess it's very similar to JB weld and they also say heating is best. I think that heat has the highest potential of creating a bond and was hoping you were going to try it. Getting hdpe to bond would be very useful for so many things.

We glued on a 3" pvc coupler with the Polywater Bonduit onto the end of an HDPE roll duct then dragged the 8' tall reel of the duct around the yard with a forklift to try and pull it off. It stayed on so we use it to couple HDPE roll pipe. 40,000 feet of 4" on that job.

You need a high specific surface area to maximize surface energy which you get best from sandblasting rather than sanding. Sandblasting gives you a complex surface texture (see Dan Gelbart's video on coatings). Also, Scotch Weld makes a line of adhesives (DP8005) designed specifically for low surface energy plastics like HDPE. It looks like the adhesive you have is for regular plastics. Cheers!

One useful way to use the Watchdog timer on the Microchip processors is to have it set for a time period such as 2 seconds and then putting the processor to sleep. The watchdog timer will then wake the sleeping processor up at that 2 second time point. Very useful if you are looking to save a ton of power on battery and still have a timed event occur such as a blinking light that flashes every 2 seconds, for example. The processor sleeps at nanoamps at 2-6vdc which is far more efficient than any SBC. I've built projects that run on a couple AA batteries for 10 years easily with these things.
