fascinating. super to see David Harvey again. Just weeks after the world cup, me and a mate went into the Kings Arms Horsforth for an early (and underage) pint so it was quiet. We were looking at the juke box and voice came across the room saying "put something on" followed by a 50p flying through the air. I put Jarrow Song on. Anyway it was Harvey, sitting on his own. He lived quite close somewhere along the Hall Park estate, so this was his local. He invited us over and we had a couple of pints whilst he chatted about the world cup experience. Such a nice guy .. Different times, when players were approachable, normal people who lived amongst us.

Strange listening to him speak now with a Scottish accent.. when he played and lived down here he always sounded English..

I am fairly sure I was at this game... Can anyone remember if Pavarotti performed Nessun Dorma before the game? I have vague recollection that he did.

If McQueen was playing in Leeds European Cup final against Bayern, 1975,, Leeds surely won the Cup, because Bayern weakness was in set pieces. McQueen was good in the air. Like Jack Charlton, McQueen scored many goals .

Is there a team frank worthington didn't play for lol. I even remember going to guiseley in the early 90's to see him at the end of his career and someone said they saw him in the bar at 2.30 and had to remind him he was on in half an hour lol. A true character who played for many years, and he even had a spell at leeds if i remember right - RIP

ahhh happy days when football was a game for men. not like the overpaid nancy boy prima donna woke knee bending a-holes these days. i remember my m8 and i getting 2 buses to elland road starting at 9 years old in the late sixties for most home games, we went in the boy's pen, and if my dad was home midweek he took me in the kop, or my grandad took me in the scratching shed. there was no bigger family than LUFC back in the day.

Before we signed him I thought he was nothing but a thug but he surprised me with some of his play. Always feels a bit unfair when a player grafts to get his team promoted and is then dropped like a hot potato

Good old fashioned battle on a terrible pitch. Bryan Robson was one of the most complete midfielders we will ever see, he loved a tackle and could mix it with anyone, but boy could he play on the ball. Such a shame the injuries took him out of those 2 world cups, England would have performed even better with a fully fit Robson on the pitch due to his quality and leadership

I had just moved to Liverpool and watched the game in a pub , all the Scousers cheering on rangers, as for the English press , we'll just typical English arrogance, did the same when the green half played them in the 70 s , rangers totally schooled Leeds over two legs , unfortunately sky money has made it a uneven playing field now ,

Celtic fans claim this was the earliest recording of Celtic fans singing YNWA but it was in actual fact the Leeds fans. They used to sing it back then up until the early 80s.
