Ben, Hello, I’m a beginner photographer. I have been shooting professionally since March of 2023. I started looking at and studying photography in college many years ago but only started trying to build a business doing it last year. Thank you for the insight. I shoot real estate and headshots. I’m leaning in hard to headshots because more people have heads than houses to list. Plus, I don’t have to break up a happy marriage between an agent and their photographer in order to shoot their headshot. My marketing at this point is very focused, I have only begun this marketing process by building a website, creating a trifold for my headshot business, and creating a business card. I shot my first corporate headshot gig at a co-workspace three weeks ago. Since that time I have been building assets and getting ready to go all in on this headshot marketing. I appreciate your advice

11:17 id like to hear more about this... different people seems to be doing pricing differently from each other.. each with their own pros cons. @TinHouseStudioUK for example use market cost pricing approach where his pricing is ultimately decided by the standards set by his competition around his area and up to how high the client market would be able to allow it, essentially, till how high their target clients could pay till they start saying no but @thefutur then teach that you have to set your prices up high, basically till what you think is what you deserve. work with clients that could afford that price point. those clients would set your "status placement" on the market. ie if you take high paying clients, then you are a high status business. if you take low paying clients, then you are a low status business. and if someone comes telling that your price is high, they simply are not the right clients for you. instead of low balling your price, explain to them why your prices are higher than the others. if they still cant take the price, refer them to others i understand both sides of the coin. i respect both of them. but to be honest, i am trying to find a middle ground between them.. i dont want the market to dictate what pricing i put up like what @TinHouseStudioUK is saying. what would happen if the market suddenly dictates that everything i do are now just a $1 value? how would you live off of that? but i also dont see myself having that big of an ego to follow @thefutur point per point. what if the potential clients just dont give a care about all that, just wants what they need done and they just go up somewhere else with lower prices. so yes, i could put up however high the price i want to be, but clients say no.. so how would you live off of that as well
