I think it is not possible, technically. They are using sprites for the out-of-the-box text movements. Sprites are cool but limited, in resolution and count.

@@mad_circuits Correct. You could make it at least 8 sprites wide - that's 24 chars out of the 40. You can stack sprites vertically.

I stumbled on this after falling down a deep retro-fueled rabbit hole on a Saturday night, and could not pry my earballs away. All of it was good, but the fact that the whole thing was end-capped with Wizball at the start and Parallax at the end punched me with the force of Kaiju no.8 right in the feels.
