Did Toller really think Kurt planned to do the final jump as a triple axel? He had no choice after turning what was supposed to be a triple into a double. How he had the guts to throw in the triple at the end is mind boggling!

What a wonderful skater and young man what a jumper as well, which helps with triples and quads all the time, My children did Kung-Fu, and got their black belts in it as well, then my daughter went into skating, and it was a case of get a choreographer for her. . Yes, I totally agree with his marks being an ex marks compiler myself, judges are hard to forget a certain person, it takes years, before they get it right.. However Elvis is one of my favourite skaters so is Brian Boitano, Scott Davis etc.

Excellent and accurate commentary, ignorant crowd and judges that did their job properly. This routine should have dropped them down far enough that would not have been in the final group for the Free Dance. Not only did they use props, but they had a vocal intro to their routine which was illegal back then along with poor choreography, skating too far apart, lacking speed and low difficulty. But Christopher Dean had them to lots of "tricks", moves that weren't necessarily difficult or original but got the audience excited. And then their Free Dance was absolutely forgettable and honestly embarrassing awarding that routine a medal.

They were over scored for years...they were never as good as the crowds thought they were. And they had a huge advantage handed to them on a silver platter: the locations of the major competitions from 1988-1992. The 1988 Winter Olympics were in Calgary, Canada and they are Canadian citizens technically. They didn't win over all the judges there, but of course they had big crowd support. The following year, the World Championships were held in Paris, France, the country they were skating for. And had they not been skating with a "home advantage" they would have never won that bronze medal. The 1990 Worlds were in Halifax, Canada...crowd support once again. 1991 Worlds, Munich Germany...and where did they train? Oberstdorf, Germany. 1992 Olympics...Albertville, France. Luckily, they went too conservative and lost support from enough judges to lose the chance at the Gold medal which went to Klimova & Ponomarenko who were always far superior to the Duschenays who were way over rated. Their long program in 1991 was a piece of garbage thrown together with a bunch of tricks that Christopher Dean knew would excite the audience. Otherwise, it was a sad sequel to the much better free dance they did the year before. And that press release was a sneaky trick to gather even more crowd support in order to try to sway the judges.
