Did you always start 1/4 with your middle finger? Ive been thinking about trying it since have problems with high bpm patterns like x xxxxy but its hard to switch

The number of mono notes in the pattern usually determine what finger I start on. Something like ddd I'd start with my index and dddd with my middle. As for something like d ddddk like you mentioned for any bpm less than like 360 I would singletap the first note and then switch to middle finger. But for faster stuff I'd probably just treat it as dddddk where I pretend It's all one big pattern. Hopefully that makes sense I can clear up any other questions you have 😃😃
