Dr Isidore Rudnick got me really into jazz and he taught me the history about the amazing music and he taught me about the amazing musicians and their impact on the music an example could be Miles Davis and his Kind of Blue album he even made sure that all financial barriers were removed Dr Isidore Rudnick is the most humane, caring, humble and hardworking man I’ve met.

Joshua is a unique musician with many other 'strings' to his bow concerning talents...his excellent command and articulation of language is extraordinary. A wonderful personality! Love you Joshua. Wendy Louise (Hall)

There's another jazz luminary--whose workshops were always about identifying and naming the "modes" for every chord in a popular song. We did so, but so what? I never sensed any application of this exercise to my playing or anyone else's in the room. Fred's quarter note exercise is immediately "translatable" and productive.
