Hi! I've tried to create a Dirt node 4:44 but it doesn't look like in a lesson. There is no inputs ov Curv, AO etc. I've added it to the node with integer1 , but when I link they doesn't work. Links are dashed and red. What could be wrong?

I usually do mattress for a mattress company and find this quite an elegant way to create the material. Although things are a bit more complicated when you can't do a tileable material because they have a specific pattern for the whole surface (like a SVG line drawing). Then bitmap texture is VERY limited to capture everything
@dreamsprayanimation Жыл бұрын
You can make a mask from the svg line data and then project it into the mattress mesh while tiling the much smaller details like the fabric. I would do this in painter instead of designer though since that part wouldn't be tiled.
Жыл бұрын
@@dreamsprayanimation yep, but as I said, that way you are limited to bitmap resolution. 4k is not sufficient to capture enough detail for a hero mattress at 1080p resolution

I dowloaded your sci fi materials on reddit, but sci fi panels are all pink and "find external data" button doesn't help. Painted wall, sci fi grid and fabric panels seem to work.

Hello Julio. You do great work. I’m curious to know what the physical size is of each material asset. Example 2mX2m etc. on substance site it is listed under technical information of each asset. Just trying to make sure I am seeing it as it should be. Thanks Julio. (Could not find where to message you on Gumroad).
@JulioSillet2 жыл бұрын
Most of my materials are made on a freestyle way, with a lot of experiment and changes, as part of my learning process. So I don't really think on physical size when I'm working on these.

how do you start this wtih two normals I am somewhat new to designer and am fascinated by your workflow
@JulioSillet2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Not sure what you mean, but you can combine normal maps using a black and white mask with the blend node, that's what I usually do.

Hey Julio from a beginner in 3d modelling, I want to make a material for buildings facade to simulate egypcian buildings facade, the thing is i've never worked with 3d modelling tools. To create the textures in order to create the posterior material (UE4) which software would u recommend? I know I may sound dumb but I'm really new to this. Thanks for your videos and dedication!
