I'm all for offline marketing and the only online marketing I'm invested in is actual Google. But it's so very hard to find specific content on marketing a salon business the old school, offline way.

Pull back the focus a little bit - there are some really good books on small business marketing. There are 3 or 4 I've read and enjoyed - then we just translate for our industry.

And if its the furniture why are they selling and why one should buy?
@hairstylistterrymais45824 жыл бұрын
Some salons that I see for for sale when you check them out all they have is old furniture and equipment and selling it for $55000 to $75000. But for what exactly I could use that money and by new furniture and equipment.

"The things I've got wrong in the past, where the best I could do at the time, given the information that I had and the state of mind that I was in, the tools that I had available, I made the best call I could. I wasn't coming from a place of malicious intend, I wasn't out there to hurt people deliberately. It's time for you to forgive yourself, because I'll bet that the other person that you wronged is not giving it the mental attention that you are." This was such an encouraging, beautiful and to the point video ! Thank you for sharing your experience, and for reminding us to let go of past, present and future guilt and transform it into gratitude for ourselves to feel, instead! Thank you for creating this, as this was exactly what I was looking for to understand the difference between gratitude and guilt better, because I feel like often it's like we feel like we "need" to feel grateful out of guilt and that just completely defies the purpose, really, understanding that there is no need to feel guilty to begin with, on either side of a situation, only gratefulness for the experience and the understanding coming with it afterwards. Thank you for helping me understand this ; clear, profound and insightful !

What are your retention rate standards for new and existing clients? From my understanding, 70%+ is good for existing, 40%+ for new clients, but I've had a hard time finding information on this.
@BuildYourSalon8 жыл бұрын
It's almost impossible to generalise: in my salon our target is 50% for new clients but I mentor one salon which has a large military family clientele, another who lives in a holiday resort - they both have much lower measures because the population is more transient. I think with retention it's a case of measuring against yourself - if you put measures in to increase customer satisfaction you expect to see rise, if not take the lid off and look closer. I think it's something you want to see improvement over time.
