there’s not a real way to write a melody, i just immagine or sing something that i think would fit the melody and i try to replicate it on the piano roll

for the sound selection i mostly use serum for the synths and leads because if you know how to use it u can mix your sounds directly in serum instead of in the mixer, xpand for acoustic instruments, hive for arps, pads and plucks. for the mixer plugins i use gross beat and shaperbox but i never had portal (im broke)

Yo, mad beat! Some free sauce, I feel you should leave more head room on your channels before you choose to push the master so heavy. You want a nice balanced, eq'd mix into some fat analogue limiter/clipper like Glip and give it that noise/aura by adding analouge distortion on the master. Try "MoMo by Analogue Obsession" it has an "opium" tone/vibe to it. | My last piece of advice is really use your ears for those harsh mid range clashing that happens when you play the beat as a whole, use reductive eq'ing on those synths especially for the mid/mid-high area (it will also let your 808 kick through a bit more, and much less harsh to the ear). Anyways, i wouldn't spend the time to write this if i didn't hear how cranky your beats are! Stay locked in, keep learning and block out time for necessary parts of your game! Take it easy legend!
