Also the more comments you get the more covered sh you will get that's why I'm making more than one comment, If I'm not mistaken Moose Recommended your channel. I'm subscribed to Moose, Ben And Mike among others they are good, Let me rephrase that they are great at what they do and I have learned a lot from these guys! Good luck and I will be watching for your videos.

This was a great video thank you! Most of your switches for instance the one you opened up will have silver contacts, the little pads that are inside, I don't know the quality as of yet, now mind you I don't know a 10th as much as Moose or Ben! I do know about switches, You can find switches in computers, ovens, Washing machines in the timer and there's quite a bit in those, Also light switches from your house and also breakers, I'm sure I left something out, All of these contacts I believe are not pure silver and they have to be ran through the acid process. Again awesome video my friend, Just so you know my name is Guy.

12 minutes 19 seconds, A lot of the silver looking stuff can actually be nickel plated brass or copper. I'll make another comment after the video.

Wow!!! Fuck! Wow!!! You probably should have done a little bit more research, Before committing to making a video and posting it to where millions and millions of people can view it. This has to be some kind of nerd joke. You know some kind of inside joke. Fuck with amateur gold recovery duds and dudettes. ... TRY TO EDIT AND DO A LITTLE MORE RESEARCH NEXT TIME PARTNER. The rarity and demand gives it (ta) it's high value. Gold is more plentiful but is in higher demand because of it's versatility and many more uses.

$80 a pound for tantalum compacitors vs. 1 oz gold is about $1300. How is tantalum worth more than gold?
@thommytwotoestimesthree8476 жыл бұрын
Christopher Younger. Tantalum mineral as a commodity can be more expensive...I'm assuming...not the capacitor. E-waste scrap gives the lowest return as you may know...but the high grade ta powder is another matter.

copper behaves the exact same way as silver with the neodymium metals, so this can not distinguish silver from plated copper

If silver is the best conductor of electricity then why do they use gold in everything...?
@darthleia2507 жыл бұрын
Troy Stutsman because it oxidizes and loses conductivity over time...

Hi Avi, the key word is contact point, there is a possibility the whole piece of metal your holding has silver content because it's from an old unit but not very likely in a domestic appliance. The contact point is actually the little round blob you see in the center, so say @6:20 in the video, you can see that round blob of silver, that is the contact point, the rest of the piece does not make any contact. You can see clearly the color of the blob is totally different to the rest. Another thing to look at is what does the contact point touch, that part could also be silver as just like gold on gold, silver should contact to more silver.

To strip the gold off the fingers. i took my heavy duty soldering iron, modified the tip to a sharp edge using a small metal file. Let it heat up and run the tip along the finger ridge-line. melts them off like butter. Save all the boards,then put them in an acid wash to recover all the gold.
