Is exothermic peak of crestamould (lets say for small items under 1m 4x450 of fgm) low enough to not cause issue when pattern is 3d printed from PLA (hdt isd only around 50°C, plus high CTE)?

Most trades need a 5 year apprentaship, and then you are still learning. GRP, EPDM etc, a one day instruction and away you go a fully trained contractor.

usually when you add a air/water proof membrane, the membrane itself is letting air out in the outwards direction. With this kind of sealing between the wood and fibreglass I am afraid that it will happen exactly as what happening with wood boats with fibreglass surface and it will slowly be condense between fibreglass and wood and the fibreglass with be disconnected from the wood and the woodpart with the condese will rot. OR is there any reason why this will not get condense on the wood part when top surface change temperature a lot faster then the inside of the roof?
@joshpit20033 жыл бұрын
If you insulate the back of the wood (inside the home), then you will have a hot-roof, which I imagine would be fine. That would keep the wood / fiberglass about the same temperature regardless of your interior/exterior temps.

You can't construct a warm roof with this system.
@pawel0711743 жыл бұрын
yes you can
@MrFlatroofer2 жыл бұрын
@Ross So wrong. The waterproofing must be laid on top of the insulation.
@MrFlatroofer2 жыл бұрын
@Ross That is why you cannot construct a warm roof with GRP because as you say you cannot lay GRP on top of the insulation.
@MrFlatroofer2 жыл бұрын
@Ross Neither. A 3 layer of SBS Polyester torchon that is laid on top of the insulation. This system is recommended by the largest manufacture of Bitumen coverings that last a lifetime. A system that is also approved by the foremost writer on flat roofing. 40 years ago I was offered the franchise for the whole area I lived in. I turned it down and I am so glad I did. I have lost count after 80 grp roofs that have failed prematurely.

@Ross A warm roof is when the last decking is underneath the insulation and then it is warm. If it is on the insulation it is cold. It has nothing to do with air gaps etc. That decking on top of the insulation will rot and crumble after 15-20 years. I have seen it happen. A regular contributor to these blogs used to place the decking on top of the insulation. He don't anymore, in fact he don't use GRP. anymore. A wise man. I spoke to a local builder who had gone into liquidation and asked why, his reply was that ........ GRP rubbish. A roofer who I spoke to on the phone as a courtesy call told me he no longer used GRP and he said he had 2 skips in his yard that were full up with failed GRP roofs. I use a 3 layer torchon system. it is good and it looks good, in fact it looks really good even after many years. All the good roofers I know would never use GRP or the other so called wonder product or any product out of a tin. I have re roofed about 10 roofs on one estate, and charged about £1000-£1100. each, They look good and will be there in 30-40 years time but one person decided to have GRP on his roof. It cost him £4500. I would suggest to anyone contemplating a new flat roof should have a 3 layer torchon roof. it is cheaper and better. The thickness of GRP is about 1mm. a 3 layer system is 9.5 mm. The weight of GRP is ? The weight of a 3 layer system is 19.5lb. (9.5kg.) per 1m square.

....in other words : is Crestamould BR 12 sealer good to seal wood as well as polystyrene ?

Dear all, for a large plug of a 40 mts boat, in case of no CNC tech, when the masterplug is in classic wood sections, strings and wood skin, how do you recommend to seal it before apply spray T 27 ?
