I Think it was a good funny/chill palate cleanser compared to the arc before and after it (skypeia, and water 7) I also believe they wanted to introduce DBF's for later. I saw a theory that when luffy and shanks meet eventually instead of fighting they will have a DBF which sounds funny and is a good alternative because obviously shanks and luffy are friends

@@RaycePenguin I won’t hold you it’s a fun concept. And I’m not denying that, but I probably would’ve enjoyed this a lot more if we didn’t get a second half repeating the same first half which was like, alright, but making me watch it twice brought it down from alright. And again, if it’s important later, make it feel important, and make it so I remember it in a good way. Besides G-8 was a perfect enough pallet cleanser and it was filler, so it had to be either no G-8 or make long ring long land bearable. I probably would’ve enjoyed it at least a bit more if I didn’t have to watch the same thing twice, if they wanted to introduce DBF once was perfectly fine

You totally missed the point bro. The strawhats **can't** use force to take their friends back. They agreed to a Davy Back Fight and it's a matter of honor. There are real stakes. A DBF is a serious matter. No pirate would ever dare disrespect it. Luffy decided to join and he will NOT go back on his word and even if he tried Zoro wouldn't allow it. Once you understand this, the arc is great. The Foxxy pirates may be weak but since Luffy agreed to a DBF the crew MUST play by their rules, and the enemies are GOOD at Davy Back Fight.

The enemies don’t even follow the rules bro 😭😭 they aren’t good they’re just straight up cheating. It’s kinda hard to miss that so even still luffy and the straw hats are so much stronger regardless we did NOT need a second half anyway. 💀

LRLL was also boring in the manga. What was worse was it was extended in the anime that it confused me because I read the manga first😂.... The roller skating part was also not in the manga, it's funny. Shelly was shot by a bullet in the manga instead of being shot by a net. Plus it added a Foxy filler after that. Lol. Good thing I really enjoyed the next arc.

Whoever directed this filler arc had Merry in mind, I guess. And they constantly made references connected to future canon episodes, which is rare for a filler arc. You'll know when you get there. Also, we get to see unusual pairings for the crew😊 Which was refreshing.

I read the manga first and was surprised when I watched G8 in the anime, because I thought I was crazy that I felt it was canon and thought I might have missed some manga chapters. Lol. But all I got to say is...... at least it's better than the extended Long Ring Long Land stuff!! (Long Ring was shorter in the manga).

He explicitly stated wanting the mortals to fall back to where they belong. He dislikes the existence of sky island bec he thinks it is abnormal

PEll was originally gonna die but due to the 9/11 attacks oda and the editors felt it insensitive at the time considering the tower and bombings therefore made the change." - source the one piece wiki The chapter where Pell took of with the bomb came out November, 19th 2001 (chapter 208). The first mention of the Bomb was in capter 193 wich came out July 30th, 2001.

And Skypeia is one of the more boring arcs compared to others (except flashbacks, they're always good!. Personally I'm excited for you to get to Water7, everyone's favorite arc. Hehe. Just got up to date and I've been taking in depth notes of every arc if u need extra info or hidden info let me know also as much as one PACE is viable i recommend just watching the original OFC skipping most filler

I’ll see you there cause I’m cooking up a storm (no pun intended) 👀 And yes I watch Skypiea normally without Pace. But yeah I’ve been getting a lot of requests for Normal one piece so I’m glad I made the switch :)

Some OP spoilers in this comment. Luffy is definitely strong but there are definitely characters on there that just body him with ease. Also some of the powers you were reading off the wiki are a bit out of context, like his conquerors haki which is the one that lets him knock people out. That type of haki only lets the user impose his will on other people and some nobody character with no willpower is just going to get crushed by that stuff but most characters worth their salt wouldn’t be affected much. Beyond that most of his gears come with massive drawbacks, particularly the toll they take on his body. So he can’t use those abilities for very long and often is left exhausted and vulnerable after using them for too long.

Honestly really not a fan of the amount of recap you do because most people watching the video already know about the arcs you are reviewing, so saying what they already know for around 6 minutes doesn't make much sense. I rather listen to what u think in more detail rather than the recap!
