Before the Klamath's extended Duraflame chapter in Stockton, Earth island Institute was in discussions with Walter Landor and his family about the wild idea of their giving the Klamath to Earth Island Institute for its offices, at the Klamath's longtime berth at Pier 3-1/2. That would have been such an adventure, but it was too much for Earth Island to undertake at that early stage in its organization. I can't wait to go see her (proper pronoun?) before long.

More people are balking at the cost of higher education as they see friends or family members saddled with debt from the pursuit of that college degree. Speaking of course curation, are we working with the industry to figure out their future hiring needs, so the courses and certifications can meet those requirements? More importantly, will students be equipped with tools they need to adjust as market and industry trends change? The job-to-home ratio is really high (too many jobs per existing home) in California urban areas which correlate to high home prices. Then suburban sprawl extends outward until there is affordability. Those sprawled areas become developed, commercial areas come in, and then the job-to-home ratio rises pushing people out more. It seems like we are chasing our tail.
