That's why I never use braid, braid will do that to any guide on any pole. Braid is the worst line I ever used. I used it when I was a kid. When I grew up I went to straight mono.. it breaks less,. It's more abrasive resistant, I never understood why someone would put braid on a reel and then put the last ten feet of the line with mono. Your just fishing with the last ten feet of your line, the braid becomes irrelevant.

As someone who fishes with rod and reel. I gotta say it’s extremely frustrating pulling up to a spot and seeing bank poles everywhere. The fact you can have that many hooks in the water and not even be there is a joke in my opinion. I’m all for people feeding there families but bank poles are for people who can’t fish. Wish DNR wasn’t a joke and would ban them.
@UnorthodoxOutdoorsTVАй бұрын
@@ryanharrod1155 Thanks for taking the time to convey your opinion. I disagree, in general, with your thoughts. Catching large catfish on bank poles is not "easy" and not just anyone is making that happen. It takes a good amount of watercraft skills to find good locations (not relying on fish finders and live scopes to fish for us), hours of bait fishing to get proper live bait to entice the trophy sized fish, and closely following water levels/weather patterns. Additionally, it is natural to look at things through your own personal lens based upon your State and location, but where this fishing took place, only 5 bank poles per person are allowed. Lastly, we are strong believers in catch and release. As are many of the folks who are proficient and skilled with bank poles in our area, which is why you see videos like this with tremendous fish. Thanks for watching the video and good luck with your fishing!
@ryanharrod1155Ай бұрын
@@UnorthodoxOutdoorsTV I agree with some of the stuff you’re saying but people can have 50 hooks per person in my state. This isn’t a big river either. 50 hooks per person is an absolute joke. I think you should have to be on the water if you have bank poles too.

Great video! Just came across your site, I’m considering changing/upgrading from a set of Sonik 9 foot Ext. rods to 10 or 12 foot rods from another brand. The average carp I catch is an upper double and the venues I go to are small, but weedy sometimes. As you know living in the US, we don’t get a chance to touch or feel the equipment before we buy it, and 12 foot rods are a lot longer than anything I’ve ever used in my life. In other words they feel a bit awkward in my hands (I own a 12ft Sonik Spod Rod). Would you recommend moving up to a 10 foot rod from the 9ft rods I currently own or straight up to a 12 foot? I’ve been told that 10 foot rods tend to be a bit stiff??? , I don’t know because I haven’t had a chance to feel any. Thanks for your thoughts!
