Great Video !!! Angular momentum has interested me as a method of propulsion for almost 6 decades, since Gr 12 physics :) Maybe someone can help here? As you demonstrated by pulling your arms in, your rotation speed increases. If a man at position A in space starts rotating another mass (a steel ball) at the end of a string, the angular momentum of both bodies is altered by the energy exerted to increase the angular momentum. Eg: angular momentum of an object increases when its mass, rotational velocity, or distance from the pivot point increases. Once the ball is outside the center of the man's mass, point B, he releases the string and then grabs the string again. The ball should travel 90 degrees from the release point and when the string is grabbed again (ball at point C) the the resulting force vector is the hypotenuse and any movement will be between A to C. Doesn't this allow a rotational force (electric motor) to be converted to directional propulsion without ionizing inert gas propellants like xenon or krypton? What am I missing or is this worthy of an experiment on the ISS?
