Hey, I'm a bit late to the party, but have you maybe heard any difference of vibrations being more or less present with or without fake noise? If you go full throttle below 3k rpm in the yaris, I feel like some vibrations are generated by the active sound. Thanks

Nice presentation, but you really only scratch the surface of how the Garmin Catalyst is entirely different from every other system and why that justifies the additional cost (yet far cheaper than traditional complete systems such as AiM, RT etc). I encourage anyone contemplating this type of equipment to dig deeper, there is a LOT more to it.

What a nice catch. :) How would you compare CUP2C with AR1?
@rejsa-nu
@rejsa-nu Жыл бұрын
AR-1 - Great longitudal grip! Low precision on turn in but great grip. Some hate the fuzzy low precision at turn in and many don't care at all and love them. They can take some abuse without destroying the rubber. Looses a tiny bit grip after 2-3 minutes so for Timeattack you need to set your fast lap early. CUP2 - Good allround grip. Okay precision. Easy to overheat and kill the rubber with just a few minutes over driving. Easier to live with on the street. It is VERY car dependent what works and what doesn't. One of these can be much nicer on one car and vice versa on another. For example AR-1 on GR Yaris is understeery. CUP2 not. On my M2 AR-1 wasn't understeery compared to CUP2. Go figure :-D

Got to say..I like it. While watching I could see a few corners that you didn't track out enough and the Catalyst scoled you..and that tight right hander..it wanted you to pivot more on the apex..which you did at the end..and it said nice work. Pretty impressive. I have been instructing for 10 years and will recommend this to my students.However..I honestly doubt I will lose my job. I did just buy one to play with..:)

This is impressive, I'm super interested. I've been checking out your code to see if I would be able to add an engine RPM sensor (via induction sensor) but I couldn't figure out the protocol and BLE systems. I'd appreciate your opinion on the idea... Would this require a major rewrite of the code? Would around 200 Hz of interrupts interfere with another system? Am I better off trying to send the data on a fourth datapack or should I try to squeeze it on one of the three that I see in your code? (I'm currently reading the libraries documentations) What's the name of the protocol used so that the App on the phone knows what was sent to it? (i.e NMEA 0183) Keep in mind I'm by no means a programmer, just a dude with some experience, no fear and no shame...😄 Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Garmin is great when on track helping me focus on the right things so it's a keeper. Also superb for quick checks between sessions what to focus on during the next session. But it's not good at looking at log details, where exactly was my Vmin and so on and it's rubbish to keep as a "database" to compare logs from many different visits to a track with different setups, different tires and so on over longer time. So RC is keeper too. Downside is many things to connect and turn on and so on.
