Played solo act for long time, took break for few years cuz I got burned out, now I'm back at it and venues won't let me play now!!! Can show you their compliments from when I played their previously!! I feel so insulted, my whole life honing my skills and now they book some hillbilly that is sloppy!! Go figure that out!!

@@rickgrebenikpuggles56 these things do happen for sure, and this is where we learn as solo artist how to serve the bar and what the customers of the bar want. Songs they know, a good progression of energy from start to finish. Sometimes we will be the background music at a gig, or sometimes we will be front and center and everyone will love us. We have to be ok with both. As that’s the name of the game
@rickgrebenikpuggles562 ай бұрын
@@ashablaine yes, but it's weird they seem to keep their game face during good performance, I usually open up with upbeat songs like jelly roll song need a favor or something, Jeremiah was bullfrog , love potion #9 etc, these songs take energy and I feel they are more a performance songs ,not just la la la in background. I'm hi energy,

Hey, need help!!! Did a gig at local bar, had standing ovations, customers requested me back but owner isn't saying nothing!! I even played extra hour!! I messaged owner and them thanks for having me, they won't reply back!! I don't understand why, I even asked venue if there's anything they recommend or sugges to let me know,....no reply back!!!!!
@ashablaine2 ай бұрын
@@rickgrebenikpuggles56 If they don’t respond after about a month I would get back to them. Go back to the venue, leave a business card and say you are interested in booking more with them if they want to. Sometimes bars might lack the budget if they are not hiring you back, it could be a multitude of reasons. Maybe they are trying out music at their venue and seeing how it goes before they totally commit to having live music!

There’s one other thing you can do to improve your guitar greatly. Get a luthier to upgrade your nut and saddle with ones made of „Nu-Bone“ or something similar.....
@sachachanyan2 ай бұрын
Your guitar looks amazing.... I play with two similar guitars, a korean Ovation and an Ovation copy. My tip for vastly improving the sound instantly is use Elixir Phosphor Bronze Nanoweb strings. I use 011s for standard tuning. Then buy any Dunlop pick you like which is made of the material they call „Ultex“. They have a couple of series where they use Ultex. This synthetic material is the one that sounds more like a natural material like ivory or bone than any other plastic. Together with the Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings you‘ll notice a huge improvement.

Hi! This was such an interesting video! I recently spoke with a salesperson who was about to sell me the TC Helicon VoiceLive 3 Extreme, but I backed out as it’s three times the price, and I felt he was just pushing a sale. He didn’t mention this model you’re using, though, and now I’m curious-do you still use this one today? I prefer to keep my singing pretty pure and not overly processed-not saying harmonies are faking it, but they do feel like a form of enhancement to me. I don’t play guitar, but I do sing, play some piano, as a beginner, and I’m good with drums since I’ve been playing since I was 6. Now, I want to focus on singing live and recording on my own, rather than singing in a chorus like I’ve done before. Given that I don’t use a guitar but would still like to add some reverb and EQ, which voice processor do you think is the best option for Fall 2024? Also, do you have any advice on how to memorize all songs? and how do you think one best set up a performance-how to prepare the flow of songs in order, and keep things easy to pack up and down? I ask as I get really nervous singing alone, especially since I’ve always hidden in the chorus, but now is the time to step forward and improve my confidence for a cappella and solo performances. Thanks for sharing your setup with us-it looks like you’ve got a great PA system! I think I’m going to save up for something similar now. Have a great day, Chris

AWESOME!!! superior vocals and musical support. Question for my drummer friend in the "for what it's worth Dept."--your kick brings the balls for sure. But why do you choke your snare so much? Let it breath brother--sounds like you're hitting a paper bag and your impressive talent is being wasted with that tiny sound! Thanks for keepin' it rockin!
@randyhetherington12472 ай бұрын
Opened for another band, he had to use their rig/snare. And for some reason the choice of microphone for production was some AKG mic rather than the standard SM57. Your comment, while valid, is more a technical situation, rather than a musical one.
