..... in addition to drilling a hole in the steady shot, I also drilled a hole into the cotton carrier mount that receives the steady shot. Then, when the pin is inserted, it locks in the steady shot.

@kevinbemis4321 Thanks These photos were captured at the Field of Flight Airshow (Battle Creek, MI) on 7-6-24 and 7-7-24. I'll also be posting soon the continuous burst performance of the Panasonic G9II. .... af performance of both cams from my use - OM1 remains locked on accurate 85-90% of the time (better than G9ii). The OM1 is an extremely underrated action camera. It is so proficient, it makes my endeavor of photographic pursuits very enjoyable Lenses: I use the Olympus 150-400 Pro, Olympus 40-150 Pro Cameras: I use the OM1, G9II, and the Sony RX10 IV.

does it stay on well? or do you know if beinG in the heat w. it often will make it slip n Get Goey?

Yes, it stays on well and does not get gooey over time. However, if you peel it off and try to re-stick it then it doesnt stick well. There is also no residue when the skins are removed. I have replaced the skin on my OM-1 two times - I'm on the third skin for the pursuit of a desired look. However, if the skins are not set precisely on the zoom and focus rings, the stickiness of the skins will create drag when using the zoom and/or focus rings. I usually dont apply the skins on the zoom and focus rings anymore. Also, the skins are more slippery than the original tactile grips that are on the zoom and focus rings. But I have found they provide great protection.

Just curious... What's your setup that you took these shots with?

I use a Cotton Carrier Vest with Steady Shot Mount. The vest and mount minimizes fatigue from holding the camera up for long duration and provides stabilization (specifically when slowing shutter speed to blur propellor and capturing the 400mm, 800mm full frame equivalent images). I use a Manfrotto MV500AH fluid head on top of the Steady Shot. The fluid head minimizes tilt, but I still have pitch and pan. So I can pan / track the planes longer without having to move my feet as much. Lenses, primarily Oly 100-400 F5-F6.3 and Oly 40-150 F2.8 Pro Second Camera Body, Panasonic GH6 (JUST BOUGHT THE PANASONIC G9II and it will be used with the OM1 instead of the GH6). I use a “Focus Shifter” by Lenshifter on my lenses, but I use them to rack zoom. This gets rid of the fatigue and soreness in the wrist associated with constantly racking the zoom. I use a swivel chair to sit on at times to minimize the fatigue of standing for long duration and to assist with panning. I JUST BOUGHT an IKAN HOVERFLY SHOULDER RIG. It may possibly replace the Cotton Carrier vest and Steady Shot to allow faster transition between cameras (havent used it yet). I only shoot with Flicker Scan activated. This allows the exposures to remain consistent frame to frame and allows me to fine tune the shutter speed. The head on Blue Angels, Fat Albert Image was captured at 1/179 shutter speed. The Noise profile also looks different than when an image is captured while not using Flicker Scan. Lastly, I use Photoshop to assist recomposing images that are tucked in corner of the picture, straighten the planes true flight orientation at the time of capture, color grading, cropping, etc. I use ON1 to de-noise and add effects (vignette, black and white, glow filter at times, sharpening)
