I brought one several days ago. It looks cool！ But why doesn't ANA offer 1:400 models？1:500 is such a tiny scale.

This is like nearly impossible to find nowaday!!

I'm collecting 1/500 scale model airplanes, but lately I've been collecting them less quickly because I don't have the money. As of now, there are over 530 planes, but I don't have most of the planes you have. Sometimes I am surprised to find that I own a model that is difficult to obtain and has high value. If the room is large, I would like to install huge glass shelves to display everything.

Actually it’s a 747-200C jakfuki. And by the way, this bad boy use to fly for TransAmerica Airways, Nigeria Airways, UTA, Cargolux and Atlas Air.

this is actually the faulty first 1996 release with the wrong engines. theyre too long. check images on the diecastmodelaircraft database. the shorter rb211s were modeled onto the 2nd release, and the 3rd release had registration on the tail although on the pics on that website the 2nd release had registration too.

i think the il-86 can be compared to an a340-200. i wish herpa had made an il-96

herpa also made this in 1/400 but for the life of me i can't tell the difference in terms of any extra detail, so this one is fine.

i just noticed how the British title on the plane's fuselage on the front cover of the packaging doesnt wrap around the fuselage but extends into the background. Also, insane detail level. Even better than some 1/400s. The only other 757 i've seen so far with such details is a 1/500 starjets avianca colombia.

only thing it's missing is the tail strike protection wheel but otherwise it has all the extra details compared to the OG concorde.

i think this is one of herpa's most detailed mad dogs. The Saudi MD90 for example doesnt have any details on the wings.

Nice presentation. But to clarify this is a 727-95. Boeing never used the term 100 for the shorty nor did they insert a 0 in front of the 95. 95 was NEA's Boeing customer number. When NEA purchased the -200 those were identified as 727-295. A two hundred series with NEA's indentifier. NEA was the launch customer for the stretched, 200 series 727's.

probably the best livery for the 717. the alternatives are bangkok air (i think) and hawaiian where i do admit the face on the tail looks nice but the rest of the plane is boringly white.

Did you take any pictures of the final product?

some of these polished aluminium american airlines planes tend to turn milky over time and develop oxidation. i was wondering if yours have had this issue and whether there are any ways to restore the shine to the original mirror quality. i am scared to use any industrial products meant for sheet metal and whatnot as it may destroy the livery.

i think the 717-200 is quite similar in looks to the shortened md-87 compared to all other mds. although the 717's fuselage looks a bit wider

I have the herpa northwest orient 727-200 but this starjets north west orient 727-100 is definitely more detailed.

this plane was on my wishlist when i started collecting herpas this year but ultimately i decided to go for a northwest airlines DC-10 and bought the continental 787 instead. continental livery still looks good on pretty much any plane though.

it's a great model and i love the livery, but it always surprises me how small these old airliners incl. the 707 and the dc-8 used to be, compared to the 767 or even the 757.

have you also done a review of the 777 in the battleship livery?

is it in terms of detail the exact same 787-8 like the continental prototype one that never entered service under that brand, but just with the united branding? or does it have other differences?

these engines look pretty good. the normal 737 old gen engines are quite terrible in terms of casting detail

i have a northeast 727-100 from herpa. it's almost as good as this one. it lacks the emergenncy wing markings and the rear exit hatch marking and it has those casting lines underneath the wings where they meet the fuselage but otherwise new landing gear and cargo doors and radome and cool NE livery
