Kaspersky is the WORST Anti Virus software one can ever install. Here’s what happened, I usually like doing my part of the research before purchasing anything but this time I didn’t. I straight away bought their Anti Virus software from their official website, but I did not get any download links/ license key or any email from their side. I reported it to the customer support chat, to which the guy said I will have to submit my address proof and photograph. I was shocked to find out that I need to reveal my identity to a stranger for me to be able to get the license key. Now, why on earth would I share my personal details? I denied to them and said if it is so then please refund my money, to which I was told that they cannot refund as they haven’t received the money. I shared my Order ID as a proof that I have purchased (thankfully I had taken a screenshot). The customer care executive then said he can see the order but it didn’t pass through. I told him I have proof that the money is indeed deducted from my account but he kept on denying. I then decide to give them a call (that was the worst mistake). The guy from the start was EXTREMELY rude. Firstly, it took him 3 tries and 10 minutes to understand the Order ID. I was very polite with him from the start. I explained him what the situation with my computer was and that I really need to install the anti virus. To my shock, he straight away started getting rude and said, “I can’t do anything about it, you made no purchase”. I said, “then how come the executive in the chat support confirmed that he can see the purchase but it didn’t pass through?”. He said, “I don’t know that, you are not accepting my input”. I said, “what do you expect me to do? I need a resolution, either you give me my refund or let me talk to someone who can provide me my license key”. “I cannot help you, I will have to hang up your call as you keep blaming kaspersky and I cannot handle that”, that’s what he said. I then got a little bit rude with him and said, “then who the hell should I blame”. He said “Kaspersky is not responsible for giving any license key to you”. I said, “you are being recorded”, to which he said, “so are you”. I replied, “I clearly didn’t consent you to record me”(As before the call started the automatic machine said, if you consent to being recorded press 1 otherwise press 0 and I had press 0 and I had also announced that I’m recording). He started raising his voice and not letting me speak a word, he kept on saying “you are not taking any input from my side, you did not purchase, do whatever you can” and blah blah blah and then he hung up. After a few more hours of this torture, I received an email that your purchase was denied as the address was incorrect. I then filed a fraud case on them and finally got the refund. TLDR: Kaspersky is a piece of sh*t! No matter what people say. Most of the reviews are either paid or people just have a placebo effect of them being good.
