Thank you for your video, it was amazing! As a 100mph driver speed and 4,3 hcp I always use Pro V1… but… watching this video I really think to take into account Wilson Satff Model. It was more or lees the same total carry as the best with the driver and iron 7 and one of the most accuracy witch PW Any body how tried this ball could tell me fedback about Wilson Staff Model Vs Pro V1? Thanks a lot!!

What a dumb name Qi 35 I am glad they didn't call it NOVA which would of been great. But to be a NOVA it had to be much better than this head . Nothing to see or gain with the Qi35 . They Priced it out of the Park .

The only thing I want to know about TM driver now is, is the carbon face improved, bonded better, less likely to fall off. Also what's the standard retail warranty on these drivers as 1 year is not good enough given the face issues.

Trying to tease out the answer… best ball for lower swing speeds….?
@booger65man3 күн бұрын
Having played these now for about six months and several dozen rounds, the problem is that once or twice around you catch dynamite and these clubs go 10 or 20 yards long. That and they don’t have great stopping power on the greens. I’m entertaining re-shafting to see if that helps and going back to blades if not.

The problem with these test they are unfair because they never test the cheapest balls on the market that real beginner/Senior golfers would use because of income restrictions. My thought is less than 50% of the golfers use these balls and balls priced over $2 a ball are useless to most average golfers. It's like giving my grandmother a Corvette when she can barely drive a Eco car.

Is it possible to have you test hit balls off the toe and heel? Most recreational golfer do not hit the center of the club often. Forgiveness is very important for us. As alway, I enjoy your work! Thanks
@todaysgolfer7 күн бұрын
Hi Richard, In an ideal world, yes, we'd absolutely love to test shots from the heel and toe, however, it's just not feasible with the limited time we have access to the test lab for. The other difficulty we'd have is how different drivers will reflect forgiveness more. A TaylorMade Qi10 LS, for instance, will change ball dynamics significantly more than a G430 10K, so it's always difficult to know how that will translate to the reality of the golf course. Thanks

That was a great video and testing. Being an engineer and land surveyor I just love date. But now you need to use it. So here is my question. I love accuracy, I want full control around the green and no more than 150 in. My swing speed is low due to my age so controlled distance is best. What would be the best option?
@todaysgolfer7 күн бұрын
Based on your parameters, Steve, I'd look at a tour-level ball built around high launch and low drag. The greenside spin will come from the urethane cover, so that's quickly sorted from a tour ball. Accuracy depends on what you mean, dispersion is the typical understanding, and lower spin will help remove a bit of axis tilt influence, keeping the flight straighter. There's not really a ball that will improve front-to-back dispersion, as that's still down to your strike over anything else, although higher-quality manufacturers make a more consistent product. Maximising distance is an easier one, too - we know that firmer balls are faster. Overall, as long as price isn't a concern for you, looking at the Staff Model, ProV1x, Chrome Tour, and TP5x wouldn't be a bad place to go.

Where is Srixon XV? Played allot on tour surprised it’s or Z star not on list
@todaysgolfer8 күн бұрын
Srixon were excluded due to not having updated the ball in 2024 and the limited access time we have for completing our ball test. It's an excellent ball and the exclusion in 2024 says nothing about the quality - we love it! We're always looking to improve and expand on our testing, and the demand for Srixon Z-Star to be tested again has won us over - look out for it in our 2025 testing.

Great report. Is it possible to download the data from your testing? I would like it to analyze differently than you did. I spin balance the balls I use and see a benefit. I am wondering if you align the alignment tool when placing the ball on the tee when testing the balls. This should positively affect the landing area. Thanks
@todaysgolfer8 күн бұрын
Hi Don, we don't currently make our data public but it's something we'll consider in the future if there's enough demand for it, for sure. Regarding alignment, this is something that the team at Loughborough University are responsible for themselves but we'll check in with them for the 2025 test to see how they align the ball.

Difficult to say! It's softer, but like with any grip, the harder you hold it, the more it will wear down. From long term experience I haven't noticed it wear significantly more than anything else, including the Tour Velvet

Great video. I bought the AI Smokes late spring this year after a fitting. My handicap was in the low 20s at the time. I’ve played a lot since then and am now down to around 15 and I’m wondering if they’re still the right club for me. If I could get down to single figures in 2025 I’d be over the moon. Do you think I should I stick with the AI Smokes for now or would the i200s be better to achieve my goal? New irons every year could get expensive 😅
@todaysgolfer8 күн бұрын
Hi Andrew, ideally we'd suggest changing irons every 5-10 years for most golfers but that may be tricky with your handicap drop. The question I'd ask yourself is 'do the ai smoke do want I want them to?' If it's still a yes, then there's no reason to swap them out. The i200 is ultimately less forgiving and less distance-orientated, but if your goal is to access difficult parts of the green with the additional height and spin then consider changing, yes. We'd still advise you go for a fitting before committing to any changes though, as you may not notice a height difference because of how it's achieved (faster ball speed could still help achieve a better apex over spin or launch depending on impact conditions)

That’s a lot of facts. How about feel and sound? I’m a 2 hcp and when I choose golfball (premium), I want to hear the sound it makes when I putt and chip, I don’t like the clic-sound. And I want to know how it performes in wind. So the more spinny ball the more clic. And the more spinny ball the more sensitive in wind. But of course I want the ball to stop on green.. I’m a 100 mph driver guy so for me it’s the Callaway Chrome Tour in the bag. Love it. 🇸🇪
@todaysgolfer20 күн бұрын
As we're conducting a Robot Test, feel and sound isn't something we can comment on from feedback (it's also a loud machine, so any feedback from those sessions isn't going to be much help, honestly!). For sound and feel, you can check out individual ball reviews on our website, www.todays-golfer.com, but mass comparison wouldn't be effective for that feedback. High spin balls don't have to be firmer. Spin is created from soft material over hard, but if you left the core softer for a quieter sound then you'd need to make the outer layers and cover even softer, which could lead to the ball tearing on short irons and wedges more often, so it's a difficult balance. Spin will also provide stability in side-on wind, but less help when directly into so it's a tough call to make. I think you've made a great call playing the Chrome Tour this year though! Lewis
@russbrown928621 күн бұрын
I am confused about one thing why is dispersion so good on a few of the lightweight shafts with your swing speed . Would you not go light because of feel. I was thinking 105 range until seeing these results. Low hands hit 7 iron 170 yes switching to graphite due to injuries as long as I don't lose feel,height, or dispersion. The problem with old graphite but new seems to resemble steel more? Great video !!!
@todaysgolfer20 күн бұрын
Weight is generally one of the key factors to finding the right shaft for you, but occasionally you will just find something that can match your sequencing in a different weight class. The question should then be, 'Will this deliver consistently for me on the course?' You might not trust a lighter weight in actual play as much as when you're in a fitting bay. Graphite is the future of shaft design, and some golfers find they do drop a weight class when they switch to premium graphite shafts. So we'd encourage you to look at the current options but still go with what's correct for you. Lewis

hi i am 60 years old next March handicap of 8-10 driver swing speed of 90-94 mph and a 7 iron swing speed of 78-82 mph would i have enough club head speed for the Gen 6 XP ? or would i be best with the P ? i need some good advice I know my stats but am unable to get a fitting in person thx cheers from Canada
@todaysgolfer27 күн бұрын
You can make the XP work just as well as the P model at that speed, yes. If you're an excessively higher ball-flight golfer, the XP's stronger loft will optimize you more. If you're a lower-flighted player, or just like seeing height, the P will be a better option. Lewis
