The deluge caused by that impact would be so sudden that the people were instantly swept away to the sea having no breathing time for a gradual relocation as to leave behind clues. The instant deluge must have carried with it enormous amount of fertile silt at to completely bury the entire valley. The only survivors would be some traders and merchants who would have been far away to Mesopotamia on business trip-- only to find upon returning that their towns have sunk under the silt. So sad! But that paved the way for the Aryans to migrate and settle down there and initiate a 'rich agriculture village-based Vedic civilization' two hundred years later . (1700 BCE to 1500 BCE is the blank period in-between IVC and Vedic civilizations. Similarly the blank period between disappearance of Dinosaur and appearance of Primates is the order of 2 million years).
