Staggering. That driving motor beat is immense. Shades of Siouxsie and the Banshees, Can, Neu, Faust, Amon Düül, very early Kraftwerk and early Hawkwind. But with their own style. Magnificent.

I wish I'd seen this band before they split. Very intense performance. Ayse Hassan doesn't get the credit she deserves. Her bass sound is beautifully disgusting and she adds feel and atmosphere where it shouldn't be possible

I was at the front to check this band out. blown away. masterclass in stage presence. we made it our goal to see as many lesser known bands as possible. while all the safeheads were drinking wine at Coldplay, we were at this with our flask of Jack Daniels!

Their performances are very reminiscent of what I have come to view as the golden age of NYC club life from about 1977 to 1983. The mood they radiate reminds me of bands like Stranglers, Bush Tetras, Nash The Slash, Polyrock, Bauhaus, Alan Vega, and so forth. Those were great days to be a young, broke adult in Manhattan. Clubs like Privates, Hurrah!, the Pep, CBGB, Mudd, Trazz, Club 57, and so on were the places from which wonderful experiences and memories were made and Savages would have been a perfect fit in that environment. I REALLY like this group of young ladies. They work.

i'm so happy that i had the fortune to see them live! now i hope to be able to see jehnny beth solo as soon as possible.... also loved her voice with tindersticks! She's so chamaleontic... dark but so beautifully deep and truly passionate.
