I went to order a TR250 (what they were called here in the states) in late November 1968 and it was discontinued. I ended up with a TR6. I noticed that TR5 does not have the stripe across the bonnet and fenders.

I had one of these as a young man of 17 in 1980 mine was a teal color with a white stripe across the hood and two SU carbs, not three like pictured. Also it was soft top only. I loved how it made me feel to drive it!

This is a fraud, a LIE. Show the Chassis plate or the "LOTUS-HOLBAY" Twin Cam, why don't you? BECAUSEL the chassis is a post 1991 Caterham as there are no rear clamshell stays. It has the wrong glassfibre elements, no carb cover, the wrong headlamp brackets, wrong bonnet (too tall), wrong nose cone, (too short wrong profile and aperture) wrong rear wings (without the countersunk Britax lamps) wrong front indicator locations, wrong grille.......etc., etc.

AS a TR-250 owner, nice...

This pointed out an interesting difference between RHD and LHD variants I didn't know before. The fuel filler on SSII RHD cars is located in the right hand quarter panel whereas on LHD cars (at least here in North America) it is located in the left side C-pillar. I was so surprised I first thought this was a mis-badged Silver Shadow until the interior was shown.

It's nice that the UK models didn't have to get the triple wipers and the padded dash that the US models got. I'm looking for an early US spec MGC GT now. Beautiful car.
