Hello Daz and Kaz. I haven't been down there for ages. I started going Yadboro flats about 1993. Camped there for almost 15 years straight over Easter and Christmas holidays. Great place when you have it for yourself. ❤😊

That’s a cracking fish did you measure it
@DazandKaz7 ай бұрын
No, I wish we did but it is protected so we put it back in the water straight after the photo, shame because we researched it & they only average to around 1 to 1.5 kg in the Murray River . 🥴👍

Oh man I remember paddling down the mighty Murray when it was indeed mighty. 1975. Our scout troop. Three days of rapids and overpowering cliff faces. Images I remember all my 65 years.

A Kiwi mate and I bought 2 motorcycles in Cairns while our boat was in drydock there. We took a couple of weeks off to tour Oz. We rode up to Daintree but the vehicle ferry had broken down. We met the girl who ran the tiny passenger launch in the riverside Pub and got her a bit drunk, talking her into taking our bikes across the river for free. On the dirt road (rainy season) up to Cooktown, this was back in the late 80's, one gas station and only 3 pubs in the whole of Cape Trib. One was a no-go, drugs, stabbings and HIV hookers. A lot of dope-growing was going on, armed gangs around. We headed back south completely off road, It was then off up to Darwin through Mount Isa in a couple of days.
