To be quite honest with you, I watched as far as the step up on carpet court as that was too much to handle. Without being rude I think re-evaluation of what you're riding in terms of skill level may need to be addressed. Riding tracks at that manor and floundering the bottom of a jump which looks to be high speed could result in serious harm to yourself or others. Regarding riding unsanctioned trails and posting to anything is frowned upon. To say a trail builder has asked you to film and post I find an absolute joke, there is a reason why they are illegal trails. If a local has told you to go and ride them, go ride and enjoy them and share among your friend group.
@seniorsone5066Ай бұрын
@@LouSkuntAs thanks mate for your watch and comment it all helps, Oh and your concern, appreciate it 👍. As for the part about riding outside my ability on carpet court and hurting myself quite the contrary actually. I had done it when that trail was first built and raced it in the triple crown I believe it was. Back then the trees were smaller and you could see the up-ramp as you were coming down the chute. Given the trail has been closed for some 3 years and the trees now obscure the jump as you’re coming down I thought it wise to just roll it first time to make sure there wasn’t any big changes after the reopening. I felt that would be the safer approach as opposed to what you’re suggesting and hitting a high speed obscured jump blind. But hey each to their own aye 🤙
@LouSkuntAsАй бұрын
@seniorsone5066 first thing is I never said for you to hit it, that's absolutely stupid. But a better approach may have been to put your bike to the side and walked down. And you also completely disregarded what I mentioned about others. I'm not familiar with that track, but if I'm not wrong, a predominant amount of tracks in that part of the forest is where people ride their downhill bikes being given what's on that hill. It doesn't take much for a local pinner or young kid to come ripping down there and not see you and collect you. Put your arrogance and ego aside and use more common sense.
@seniorsone5066Ай бұрын
@@LouSkuntAs I don’t normally engage in this type of thing, but the irony was just too much to go past. You accuse me of being egotistical and arrogant. This is based off of me relying to your comment with facts and context of which by your own admission said you are not familiar with that trial. And to the best of my knowledge you weren’t present either. I strongly believe if you did know the trail and were there you wouldn’t be making these comments. Let me help you, that chute is very long, steep, narrow and surrounded by scrubby vegetation, the GoPro does not do it justice. If I was to do as you suggest and walk down it and then try to climb back up I would most certainly be putting myself and others at risk. I welcome you to go back a rewatch the footage, taking note that the reason I was “floundering” was because I had pulled of the jump line onto the right side which was loose. This was in the interest of the safety of the others behind me, not only in my riding group as I wasn’t sure if they were going to hit it or in case a local “pinner” came down they could hit it without issue. Also note the others did the same thing, at no time was anyone stationary on the main line of the trail. So, I’m not sure what you call it when someone makes statements on something they’re not familiar with and weren’t there and yet gets upset when someone replies that knows and was there. Just putting it out there. I’m actually more intrigued with the fact of you calling me a liar, or should I be more concerned that you must have access to my private messages and conversations…. Cheers,
@LouSkuntAsАй бұрын
@seniorsone5066 me mentioning you to walk down the side of the line was an example of what could of been done to mitigate problems occurring. Seeming your smart enough, I'm sure there would be alternative ways. Weather you were stationary or not it still poses a risk, assuming you weren't intending on hitting the jump in the first place means proper evaluation would be a good start. Just cause you can get into a trail doesn't suggest that you should be riding it. I claim you are talking nonsense cause I myself who have built illegals, along with a large group of friends would never ask someone to film and publicly post their work. It's usually general etiquette to not do so. I call arrogance cause people are trying to educate you in what's right and wrong, and you have the audacity to try claim what you are doing is fine, which is clearly not true. And ego cause you claim that we are boosting your video to gain more recognition. Be respectful to the opportunity you have to ride what's there. We are pretty lucky.
@Gmork-The-NothingАй бұрын
This trail police thing is tiring. No one's out there telling you how and where you can ride, but because he's posted a video you think you now have that right. I am familiar with the trail in question, and with the width of the trail and way he rode it, he would not have put anyone in jeopardy. If anyone came down they would easily be able to see if there was an obstacle in the middle of the run in to the jump.
@heathdouglas-monks7568Ай бұрын
Cool that you are out there doing it but could we please not post these trails. People put a lot of time into them and bringing attention to a contentious topic will only make it harder to have more in the future.
@Gmork-The-NothingАй бұрын
The only people that know this video has anything contentious in it are the ones who know of and have ridden this trail! Like yourself. So by you saying that, you've actually made it contentious. Do you see the irony there? He doesn't even remotely mention the location or hints on how to find this, or any other info that could jeopardise it. Go ride the shuttles and listen to dozens of people telling out of towners how to find these. There was nothing contentious about this video until you and a couple of others chimed in and pointed it out! 😂

@@Gmork-The-Nothing l don’t normally reply to these comments. But you are bang on mate. I don’t post with reckless abandonment, I never show an identifying feature to give away its exact location including entry or exit. I don’t publish my Stava with these rides. And the irony is most of these trails exact locations and names can be found on a popular app if you know how to get them up. Lastly, I often get told about these trails and asked to film them. Therefore, maybe just don't bring attention to it with these comments. Sorry but it's just a bit hilarious as all the locals and even shuttle drivers are keen as mustard to give away the names and locations of these trails and often you can find out by simply talking to strangers on the shuttles.
