I was in 1/72 ar Camp Casey 1990, It was different between Private, NCO and Officers than fort Polk were i was stationed also after korea. The difference is we lived in basically together and we were family cuz nobody could bring there's t that time.

Hi, was in 2/2 Armored Cav 1994-1996. There is NOTHING around Ft. Polk, but we made the best of it. I’m from S. Carolina, I drove home like 3 times a year. BUT, Houston, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans was was SO fun! You just gotta deal with the hand you’re dealt with. ✌🏿

I'm a 31 year old man, two years of service and can't get BAS nor BAH over here at Hawaii. I enlisted as a PFC, and SPECIFICALLY joined the army to get my mother a house, I couldnt claim my mother as a dependant because she makes 800 dollars of social security, but is unable to work. I'm even still paying for my mothers phone after two years. I'm being kicked out of the army now for being Fat because I can't get BAS either I'm forced to eat at the dfec whichh makes me (Bigger) I got a 520 acft score. All my company had to do was hook me up with two things, but instead kicking me out seems simpler. I'm sure they're other single MALE soldiers in the same boat or have been as me. I'm getting out with a honorable discharge so I can't complain all that much, but It makes me sad abit. Like I have failed and it's not completely my fault, it feels like I've done pushups so many times yet the grader gave you constant 0's. Anyway, this video brings me back to my recruiter showing how CHILL his job was. When army isn't like this at all, what makes or breaks Army is a few things but it's mostly Leadership.

Wow! Definitely different than what we had in 1969. Our barracks was a 2 story building that had a row of bunk beds on either side the building. Our latrine was a long latrine and rows of toilets with no dividers. The shower was a large room with multiple shower heads and no privacy.

Did you have to live off post in non government housing. If you stayed on base and they gave you BAH that's stupid. At least with a on base house with a roomie you got more space and freedom. Anybody they force to live off base should get BAH to pay for that. If you can take your Bah and buy a home its best for you because your getting equity.

The problem I had with 76C the former PLL clerk is when you make E-6 you automatically become a supply Sergeant! Not an easy job. Is Supply Point 60 still there? Also the "way gone club" on post.
