Good stuff! I'm only an amateur musician, but I get where you are coming from in regard to reworking old material (even if the reworking comes about almost by accident). I recently reworked a couple of my old songs, and I had to come up with a new melody, in part, because I couldn't clearly remember certain parts. I think they are better songs now, so I am happy with the process. I enjoyed your song and your video!
