Beautiful 😍 I do feel we lost the smile when the colour was added. Still, it’s a beautiful piece of art ❤

Wow! First to comment? Just a weird American with a deep admiration of pre-Westernized Japanese culture, art styles, and especially all the aspects of Shinto. Naturally I LOVE watching Kagura performances.

Hey there! Thanks for chiming in! Nothing weird about it! I'm in the same boat! I hope to bring more attention to kagura performances when the opportunity comes, and of course I am also exploring local aspects of Shinto, so hope you'll be seeing it in the future! Thanks!

@@ChrisTourExploreArt I really dig the whole concept of ancestor worship, and family honor. The one thing I wish had rubbed off on America. It's crazy trying to imagine where America would be nowadays if upholding or disgracing family honor carried that kind of weight in our culture.
@ChrisTourExploreArtАй бұрын
@Random_Chiroptera Totally agree! US being such a "young" country it's hard to say, that's why I enjoy visiting other countries with deeper history and established culture!

I see your style, bright and cheery. I like it. My opinion as you asked, I'd go over with colored pencils for details to bring out a focal point. Such as the colors of the shire seems the paint is heavier, so bring it out by defining it. Other than that, I like the colors you've choosen. I'm not as brave as you with bright/pastel colors. Also, you said once you make a mistake with watercolors, you have to own it. Unless you're into hyperrealism, you can always fix watercolor.
@ChrisTourExploreArt7 ай бұрын
Wow! Thanks for the constructive feedback! Yea, I was thinking to put more detail work in, but I'm afraid I'll commit too much time to it, and I want to move on to the next project. Thank you!

@@ChrisTourExploreArt Like writing, sometimes you walk away and come back later with a fresh look. Stephen King rests his drafts for about 6 weeks. Of course, for art, you come back to it whenever. Happy painting.

That's funny. That is exactly what I do when my painting doesn't come out but when you add ink for definition, the destructiion looks purposeful.

Yea, I was ready to tear up the painting, but the destruction kept me in the painting. I'm sure I could've spent more time on it to get it right, but it's time to move on the next project. Appreciate your feedback!
