The 90s was when society became sensitive. 2000s was when society was starting to crumble, and the 2010s was when the human species is failing.

*(THE FALL)* The 90s: Society becomes sensitive Early 2000s: Things begin to go downhill, 9/11 happens Mid 2000s: Society starts to crumble, wars are happening ect. Late 2000s: Society is crumbling even harder and economic downfall *(AFTERMATH)* Early 2010s: The aftermath of the fall, the effects begin to play out, only a few people have realized Mid 2010s: This decade is bland and boring, its a consumerist decade like the 1970s except the entertainment is far worse, The only + being advancements in technology Late 2010s: Things still suck, but at least more people have realized it and are trying to improve, by 2019 everyone is glad that the 2010s are coming to an end, little did they know what 2020 had in store... *(THE DARK AGES / GREATER DEPRESSION )* Early 2020s: Everything is still pretty bad, but to make things worse we are hit with a virus / pandemic, more economic downfall, WW3 is imminent, Rioting, the 2020 election, political tensions. All Optimism has been destroyed since 2020 hit, it is very similar to the 1930s, the only upside is that a wayy more people than before have realized how bad everything has gotten Mid 2020s: ???????? (I will make updates)

88er checking in.... I was in high school (graduated in '06) and then community college (from '08-'10).You couldn't PAY me to relive my teen years I was often bullied and harrassed by others. Being shy/nerdy and neither sporty or outdoorsy in a school where those were the main social streamlines, I felt like I never truly fit in (thank god that I didn't have to worry about my daily living nightmare being broadcast on social media). So I reflect on that time with an "I'm glad that part of my life is over". I certainly don't miss the depression and having a breakdown when I was 20. It took me nearly ten years to become comfortable in my own skin and build up self esteem. lamentparticularly

@TechMasterJason I dont remember writing the comment lmao, anyways, I do think that some of the 2000s stuff is good, I just meant that it got progressively worse after that, all these bands and artists copying each others sound, Theres definitely still some good shit if you know where to look, But It'll never be the same, And some of these people who make music dont even give a fuck about the actual music element at all, just "singing" or rapping to some beat with little to no melody singing about money or sex, I mean, No Disrespect meant to you or anyone else if you do like that sort of stuff, Its just not really something Im into, I prefer something with a bit more melody, Or at LEAST Some sort of meaning other then "Look how much sex I have and how much money I have"

In addition, people spent less time outside and more time on the coach with their laptops and later cellphones. Also, the rise of social media and instant communication ruined the quality of good journalism. Also, CDs declined, leading to the end of owning music as being tangible, and this results in ticket prices for tours to skyrocket (and also in the 2010s). It was also the first decade since the 1930s when the Dow Jones was negative, with the dotcom bubble and housing bubbles to blame, and of course, home affordability took a big turn for the worse as well. The Internet also forced the political divide to grow worse (FOX News vs. MSNBC), and this lead to Obama following Bush, then Trump following Obama, and in 2020 or 2024, another democrat seems likely. Of course, hip hop became more popular than rock this decade on the singles charts, even if rock still had a bigger legacy following then, and jazz music was pretty much extinct in the mainstream as even the '90s had acidjazz, the swing revival, and Kenny G-styled smooth jazz was still popular. The scary part is that over the last year or two, people are secretly starting to bring this "decade of doom" back, and trust me, except for perhaps Spongebob, certain things like TRL (its comeback try was a BOMB), reality TV remakes, and certain fashions are NOT a good thing to bring back. I'd rather have all-new stuff over anything '00s even!

Bavarian Blood how was 1998 the 00s?
@BanjoAndConkerDDR10 жыл бұрын
robotchickens1994 1998 was mathematically 90s, but culturally 00s. Nickelodeon took a Klaspy-Csupo direction, Cartoon Network made more of its original programming than airing old 1940s-1960s cartoons, Disney Channel became geared towards preteens and teens, and grunge culture was dead and in came pop-punk, post-grunge, boy bands, princess pop, nu metal, comedy hip hop, etc. (Sugar Ray, Blink 182, Green Day, Matchbox Twenty, Britney Spears, Christina Aguelera, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Jay Z, Eminem, etc.). Also, the first 6th Gen 128 bit console, Dreamcast, was released in Japan. The 00s from a cultural perspective was 1998-2007. 1998-2002 being the the Millennial, Post-Grunge, Boy Band, Princess Pop, Nu Metal, 5th to 6th Gaming Gen Transition, Windows 98 half of the cultural 00s. 2003-2007 being the Gothic, Emo, Pop-Punk, Dark Alt Rock, Crunk/Hip Hop, 6th to 7th Gaming Gen Transition, Windows XP half of the cultural 00s. 2008 was when the 10s started showing itself with the shitty electropop music.

@BanjoAndConkerDDR10 жыл бұрын
robotchickens1994 Green Day actually started in 1987/1988, which was the late 80s, not the 90s. Billie Joe Armstrong even said "I'VE BEEN AROUND SINCE FUCKIN' NINETEEN-EIGHTY-FUCKING-EIGHT" at his I-heart radio meltdown in 2012. Also, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Alice In Chains were still making music after Cobain died, and it's still considered regular grunge. Regular grunge in 1994-1996 was still king. Post-grunge didn't take off until 1997. Foo Fighters and Matchbox 20 started in the mid 90s, but didn't really take off until 1997.

Bavarian Blood 5 year olds are is you get to be a bigger kid I turned 5 in 1999 so it makes me a 90s kid in my book August 1994 FTW
@BanjoAndConkerDDR10 жыл бұрын
robotchickens1994 Concrete development actually starts at age 7 on average. Childhood biologically is from 3-11 from what I've read from one study, with adolescence/maturity being biologically 12-20. So, 3-5 would be a younger kid, 6-8 would be a core kid, 9-11 would be an older kid. So you would've been a.. mid 90s baby/toddler, late 90s younger kid, early 00s core kid, mid 00s older kid.
