II just wonder... how they wrote this kind of lyrics?? This is one of the most emotional and real lyrics in the entire world... I can see the picture, and I can feel what the character feels... deep sorrow and the inevitable. Stars are the band of the common people, with common feelings and needs. I love you Amy, such an underrated singer.

Today is the anniversary of Paul MacLeod's death. He played in The Skydiggers for a while and he was a friend of mine. I think Paul would have loved this song and probably would have played it live. The refrain "I know they're really gone" kills me every time because it's true. Loving someone is inherently a brave act because we accept the fact that eventually we'll have to say goodbye to them because we are all gonna lose this game called life, but we do it anyway. As dark as Paul could get sometimes and despite the fact he ultimately succumbed to his illness, I'd like to believe he understood that too. I hope he's ok wherever he is. RIP my friend😥
