I have this organ, same model but is not working properly. I would love to fix it but I do not know how :( Is it normal to have a loud, constant buzzzz sound? I think it is in the speaker maybe. Please help. thanks

Thanks. Album liner notes can only teach us so much. Within a few minutes of ordinary recorded conversation from a person we soon learn so much which should otherwise have been forgotten. I hope someone can say, definitively, one day, who the interviewer was. Was it not written on the recording's box, or anywhere ?

I really like this, males you want to dance. Some of the sounds are funny, quirky, others quite cool for jazzy vibe. The drum machine is great tbf. 🎉 I could probably only take so much of it though, as a pianist though...😂

The Soho Soul was a class act. It is great to hear the London accent now forever silent, discussing his work and possible future. It didn't quite work out due to a number of factors, but Tubbs left some wonderful albums to remind the listener of his brilliant talent.

I have a MINT 4373 orbit 3 organ We are the original owners. It turns on but the upper and lower manual will not play. The cassette deck will play and the synthesizer will also play. The pedals will not play. Just turned it on one day and this happened. No pops or weird sounds before this happened. It looks like the day it came from the Wurlitzer store in Dixie Square Mall in Harvey Illinois. Still have this 45 and all the books that came with it.

Tubbs' comments re the British trad jazz movement of the period was spot on :- "I don't see how that kind of music is going to get anywhere !" Within three years of that interview, the trad jazz scene was utterly crushed by the twin movements of four lovable chaps from Liverpool, and a group of sullen lads from London.....

My dad told me the SAME thing: I got a job & far from my trombone and piano; without applying my innate stubbornness to push ahead no matter what the most significant persons in my life said. If you're currently in the same boat I was then: GO FOR IT! Wish these guys in the vid were my children's or grandchildren's ages rather than mine or my dads. Long live jazz! I'm comforted when I hear a young men or women play from their soul the fluency and creativity of musicians like these. Doesn't matter who you are or where in the world you come from. I can mention the U.S., Canada, The UK, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, etc; there are breath taking Jazz players through out the world. Globalism is a nightmare, but letting music flow freely from all times in the 20th cen. & beyond will make the recording companies and their up-jump controllers realize they'll have better sales if they produce something other that the current Neanderthal level of creativity currently displayed in popular music.

+jeff Craven Well observed. Tubbs was an ordinary guy who made extraordinary music. That's why he is still so highly revered after all these years. A true one off talent. People like him don't appear that often, if at all.

On leave in 1956 and staying wih an army buddy at his parents place, over the river from the Battersea power station. He took me to Club M and I seen 'The Jazz Couriers' for the first time. My first live jazz event ! 17 years later , the week before leaving Liverpool to emigrate to Australia , Tubby died and the later the same week I had arranged to see Ronnie Scott at The Adelphi hotel in Liverpool , A strange and sad coincident.

I was 10 or 12 when I first asked for an organ but, never got one. I bought son a keyboard and putz around on it. But, I always wanted a real one. (just 50 yrs. later) I don't care that it is analogue. I will be the only one that hears me. (Just like my Karaoke!) LOL! I go down in the middle of the night and sing Karaoke! ... just sayin'

Thank you again Paul! Yes, I am green! But, have been Purple with envy for years wishing I could have an organ! I really think it could have been a 70's ish because I remember a friend of mine's mother got one in '69 or 70. I had so much fun with the peddle and button on side. I wanted to learn the organ as a child and all EXPERTS said I needed to learn the piano first. (or so I was told) Had a wrong teacher starting out and got disillusioned. I will probably peck around but, will enjoy!

If anything is not working on the organ then Morelocks Wurlitzer Parts in Mississippi has every part for Wurlitzer organs and pianos. When the factory closed in the 80's the former employees bought out all of the inventory. They are experts and extremely fair on prices. In fact too fair! You can get a service manual for your organ from them, but if you go to the Organ Forum Jan Giradot sells owners and service manuals for about $10-12 and these are the genuine field manuals often w/ notes even.

If you want to know ''what it does'' then you must be very green about organs huh'. The Orbit is the name that Wurlitzer gave their synthesizer they put on the organ. It is a monophonic ( one key at a time) synth, but that's ideal for an organ, if you want a polyphonic synth why play an organ! Just go get a synth. No, organ playing is an incredible thing. Organs are great great instruments, but completely misunderstood. The key to understanding is in listening. W/ KZbin you CAN. My chan.LOTS!!

I know all about these Wurlitzer organs. If it's a total tone model it would more than likely be from the later LSI series, meaning Large Scale Integrated circuits, as opposed to transistorized throughout. I've got both types and can tell you that the earlier Wurlitzer organs, like in this video are superior to the LSI models. However, being Wurlitzer they never made junk until Hohner got involved in the early 80's. Look under the key desk for a model plate. 625,630, 950 it's good. 4XXX better.

I am so excited! I just found and bought a Wurlitzer total tone deluxe organ orbit synthesizer and trying to discover what it does. Can anyone give me more background? I have not found the model number yet and what kind of support I might expect. Anyone know how to find the manual? I keep getting looped into the ASK and other things they are trying to sell.
