@@DevKumar-h9l1c Hello Kumar,,welcome to Kenya.. though it may not be that easy to get a job there are good companies that one can work for. What I am not sure also is how it works when you are not a citizen, whether work permit is needed.

Would you recommend k8s documentation as the best platform to use ?
@TechyWithLorna

Yes, I do recommend going through the documentation in kubernetes.io. It has everything you would want to learn about Kubernetes. However, for practice purposes, have yourself a lab. You can use minikube, microk8s or better off install a cluster with kubeadm. Practice gives you a lot of confidence

The source to image is also a good feature on open-shift lacking on native k8 and yeah I guess one sleeps better when you can transfer a risk to third party 😂 not to say am choosing sides.

@TechyWithLorna
@TechyWithLorna Жыл бұрын
Thanks Hellen. In prod, one would have more that one control plane node and a number of worker nodes. Upgrading can be done per node (or a set of nodes) so that during draining, workloads can still be scheduled on the other remaining nodes to avoid down time.

Hi , I have one question about what causes node down and what to do if node goes down , as our applications are running on the nodes
@TechyWithLorna
@TechyWithLorna Жыл бұрын
Hi, you mean the node is completely unreachable? If that is the case, it could be an issue outside Kubernetes. Check if the node was shut down and see if you can power it on. Are they virtual machines? If so which virtualization are you using?

@@TechyWithLorna thanks for reply. I wanted to know how we can access pod or our application inside pod running on any node (ec2s), if node get down . And what are the possible causes that can down the node. I was asked about this question in Interview
@TechyWithLorna
@TechyWithLorna Жыл бұрын
@@diwekar4827 If you have more that one worker node and if you are using Deployments to run your pods, then the pods should start on the other worker nodes when one worker node is down and you should still be able to have your application running. If all nodes are down then you won't be able to access the application. To access the application, you should use a Kubernetes service to expose it. In this case, being cloud, you can use a load balancer (Check more on Kubernetes services) To access the Pod i.e to get into Pod shell, you can run the following command "kubectl exec -it <pod-name> -n <namespace> -- /bin/bash" If your pod has more than one container, make sure to specify container name "kubectl exec -i -t <pod name> -n <namespace> --container <container name> -- /bin/bash" You can also check if the application is running and reachable using 'curl' command from any pod shell within the same namespace As far as a node being down, anything can cause it. Maybe it was deliberately switched off, could be issues with the underlying hardware, maybe it was a spot instance and it is no longer available, billing or it can become inaccessible due to network issues, memory leaks, storage running out etc

Hey, Lorna) Thank you for video I had the trouble during creation Node group. Create failed. And I have got an error: AsgInstanceLaunchFailures: You've reached your quota for maximum Fleet Requests for this account. Launching EC2 instance failed. Do you have any idea what causes a problem?
@TechyWithLorna
@TechyWithLorna Жыл бұрын
Hello @YBk-lo2hr, thank you so much for watching my video. For the error, it seems you have reached the maximum number of EC2s that can be launched by a fleet in your account, mostly based on the maximum amount you have set to pay for the fleet. An EC2 fleet contains configuration to be used for launching a group of EC2s. A nodegroup launches a number of EC2s as worker nodes. Kindly check these links for more information: docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-fleet.html docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/WindowsGuide/fleet-quotas.html. I hope these documents help but let me know if you have further questions. Thanks again for watching
