Thumbs Up Jake, your little one is moving right along. She has picked right up from where she left off last season. Ha, it looks a little low tide for you guys. We have a major R storm supposed to happen starting tonight. I hope our little bump can survive it. They seem to think so. On another note, Christmas Day I am up spinning hot laps, and after I am done, I stop at the little ski shop at Swiss Valley. The local ski coach, a lady, had put up a pair of her Head Worldcup Rebels E-Race 2023-2024 up for sale. A VERY GOOD DEAL, Merry Christmas to myself! I have not been on a race ski in years, and boy do they rail around. Fun was had today in the foggy, misting manmade groomed. Ha, you play your cards right, you could have these too! Happy New Year, stay safe.

@jakeyoungalaska8 күн бұрын
@@pete6705 I’d take the Stormriders for sure ! The MX have a very smooth , nice turn but there is a sweet spot that if you get off of it and try to drift at all and massage the turns , they object . Where the SRs go seemlessly from carve to drift . If only on groomers the MX are better though

Jake you are out and about, sounds pretty firm! It is raining here today, but we have had quite "Lake Effect" in place for about 3 weeks, so the snow coverage is not bad. I got one day in at our closest MI ski area, Swiss Valley. I am running "Lonewolf" this season. Honestly, I was a little bit snarly on the lift, only rode up with one person. I had to stop and apologize to him for having such a piss poor attitude. Skiing is fun, and I was anything but fun. But, 33 runs were done, and for the first day out, not bad for Michiana. Now, I noticed you have the Scott Schmidt Storm Riders and the MX88's flat. You will ski those again, right? Ha, "second thoughts" on winding up here in Indiana alone, I should have maybe kept those MX88's. The ex was always bitching about me skiing to "fast" on them. Oh well, I know they are in good hands. Have a great season.

Hey Jake, I am still here, and I love that you shared a ski video in July! Just speaking for myself, I watch skiing anytime of the year. I remember this from last season. Best day of the year was on a sled eh? I personally like it more when you are ripping around the resort, with the gates open. But, that is me. Anyways, I am pretty much all settled in from the big change in my life, and I will get around to writing you a snail mail "fan note." Thumbs up!

Thanks for this video, I really enjoyed watching! I'm building a jogging/running routine after taking a break for several years, and I find myself more and more excited for trail running, although I have a long way to go until I have enough stamina and muscles to tackle mountain running. Your video has added to the motivation :)

awesome I'm glad you liked it! Yeah my speciality is making badass videos with minimal views , I'm pretty good at it lol! my advice for getting into running in general is consistency and think of building a pyramid one layer of paint at a time and slowly build your aerobic base and skeletal muscle strength. Its super easy to get over zealous (especially on the down hill) and be so sore you don't want to do it it again

This is really helpful - thank you! How did the shoes do for you? I’ve got the speedcross, too, and am planning to use those. Any pointers/tips now that you’ve done it? (Fantastic finish, btw - I watched your other video of the race!)
@jakeyoungalaska8 ай бұрын
Hi thanks for watching! Its funny you ask about the Speed cross as I was just thinking yesterday how Ive always had good races while wearing them.. I say this because last year I switched it up and got a pair of the Hoka Carbon X trail racer and every race I wore them something seemed to go wrong, never really had a great race. IN general I like the Speedgoats and ATR for trainers. I'm 6' 1" and 220 ish . and all little aches and pains went away when I got on the Hokas. Just last week however I got a pair of Salomon Glide Max TR and I really like them! They are a maximal shoe but have a sleeker feel... almost like a fat Speedcross.

Did you watch the Crow Pass Race disaster? It was the race I did 1 week after the 50 miler and it did not go well...!
@broccolirahb8 ай бұрын
Oo, thanks for the heads up - I don’t think I’ve heard of the glide max TRs! I’ll do some research. I’ve enjoyed my speedcross shoes for years - I’ve always felt so stable and confident in them - but I worry about putting 50 miles in on not as much cushion, so maybe the glides will be the fix! I haven’t watched the crow pass video yet, but I’ll check it out. Can’t believe you did three races back to back to back - you’re an animal!
