These vids are excellent - thank you. I can endure most things but the thought of getting 2 adults and 2 kids through showers and toilets if the weather is pants puts me off. Are there any ski aires with shower and toilet facilities?

Really enjoy your Aires videos. We are hoping to do a ski resort once things get back to normal . Out of all the many places you have visited ,Which Aire would you recommend for the following ? 1: electric points at parking spaces 2: walk/ ski to lifts rather than bus. 3: walk to town for bars/ restaurants etc Many thanks in advance

Too many to choose and depends on what your other requirements are but Vars or Les 2 Alpes if you want something a little bigger and more commercial!

Hi Guys Just watched some of your vlogs and we have now subscribed to your channel and click the Bell for new notifications. Your vlogs are really good & very informative....i do have a couple of questions if you don't mind? In your vlog you nentioned the hut to pay between the barriers. You advised that you can only pay for 4 days....is that the total max stay or can you repay for 4 days more? My wife and I own an Autotrail comanche motorhome 6 wheeler and want to take it to the slope for sking. Motorhome is same width as your 2.3 wide...but a little longer 8.75mtrs long but drives and turns on a sixpence( very manuverable). We noticed in the AIREcarpark and video large 7.5ton truck homes and big A classes, which manage the tight roads. ADVICE: Would you please give us some first euope snow trip advice on places to stay we only want to stay 4+ days each time for a two week trip. What would your recommend to stay for first trip in France even the travel down from Calais. Sorry for all the questions, you guys looked as if you had fun whist gaining lots & lots of experience and love you to share your experiences..... Thank you Regards Jason M

Hi Jason - thanks for the message and sub! First and most importantly, Alpe d'Huez aire is now closed permanently - we'll update the description but this is new this season despite it being threatened for a few seasons. Secondly - best thing you can do as newbies is start on the website! There's a lot of really useful info there and we've been adding new contributors with different perspectives too. www.winterised.com Thirdly, as soon as we find time - we will start updating this again! www.snomadsites.com we have well over 200 sites to get posted and many many more to come! Hope that helps - just lots of big questions there and so we try to cover loads of stuff in the blog posts which makes it easier for people to find and revisit! Thanks again! Hannah and James

Is there usually space or can you book ahead?
@Winterised4 жыл бұрын
No booking at Les 2 Alpes - there are only a few aires you can book in advance and they're privately run. Space is really tight here - especially during holidays so best to try and get in mid-week and have a back up!
@craigpowell53254 жыл бұрын
So are they winter tyres or studded tyres?
@Winterised4 жыл бұрын
Winter tyres - you won't generally find a need for studded tyres near ski resorts as they roads are well managed but getting to resort may require you to go through places where it is not legal to have studded tyres so it's not an option that suits most - unless you're in Scandinavia or very remote.

How did the Autoquest 185 handle the cold conditions. We have a Autoquest 155 with winter pack and curious how it will hold up. We have booked to take it skiing to Austria in February 2021. Cheers
@Winterised4 жыл бұрын
We have to be honest because we made a promise to ourselves that we would be - hence you rarely see the van in any of our videos. The van was terrible. We had engineers fly out three times in the course of 4 months to make it habitable and the winter pack isn't worth mentioning - in fact it's a terrible description for what it is. Send us an email and we can send you a list of things you can do to protect the van a bit and make sure you don't suffer the same fate we did. I presume if you're going to Austria that you're staying in campsites? That will help a lot. Really sorry to be negative but we made a strict rule that however uncomfortable we find saying things like this, we would be honest so people can benefit from our experience - email is [email protected] - hope to hear from you.
