When she's in the black dress, has the longer hair and the badass attitude, she is exactly like Nicci from the books! Or at least like how I think of her... With that season finale they left all the fans craving for more of what Nicci could have been...

I AGREE!!! Ugh, dude. Just imagine what they could have done... Having Richard come for Rahl and uptake the name and lordship. Giving Nicci the option to choose her own liberation. Dealing with Jagang and all his dreamwalking bullshit. Whether they could follow the books more closely now or not, it'd be awesome to see any variation of it.

Yeah, I think we all would have preferred a more book oriented adaptation, but they did what they could with the rights they were allowed. Wasn't much. They were sorely limited with what they could and couldn't use, and how closely they could bank to the books. Regardless of personal opinion, the show did rope in new fans who had never heard of the books, and that's pretty cool. I prefer the books, but I consider the show to be something separate entirely for the sheer fact that I'm able to enjoy it better that way.

I hate how weak they made the Mother Confessor at times.... in the series, she killed more wizard's than any other main character. The way Goodkind wrote her.... You just can't capture that. Also short of the creator, no way Nicci could take part of her Confessor power and use it on her... And once touched by a Confessor, the magic last as long as the person she touches lives... Nothing can turn a Confessed back to normal. Also everyone bows to the Mother Confessor including Wizards, Kings, Queens. She was not given the justice the books did her.

It wasn't much up to the writers. Terry Goodkind wasn't as forthright with his creations, so the creative process was lacking and limited. They could only use the bare minimum from the books, and tried to do what justice they could which... was not much, lol. But it still garnered attention and interest, and gained new fans. Which is rad to me.

Such a good book series to make it tv serial... But it was shitty. I mean I know, we all enjoyed it. I did as well. But look at second season, Nicci, Richard sister resistant to any magic, journey to the old world, all training when Richard resisted so badly to any form of magic... And they've put 10 books in 20 short lasting 45 minutes parts. I mean come on, they could have done it better. I hated this part when Richard was hunting "chicken which one was a demon" but entire series was awesome, maybe beside poor ending. How can you end up so quickly such a promising story? They simply had nothing left to do story about. Last comment 3 years ago, hope someone will see mine (but doubt so). Nicci was still best character in this movie, in book she was the one that keeps me reading.

I think everyone would agree that the show would have been much better if it banked more closely to the books. Nicci is also my favourite from the books, and while I definitely enjoyed Emily Foxler-Baldoni's portrayal in the show, I think she would have delivered an incredible book!verse Nicci. However, unfortunately there were copyright lines to abide by as Terry Goodkind, the author of the books, was not keen on allowing the TV show to happen in the first place. So the creators of the TV show had to work with basic themes, and couldn't do too much from the books or it would have violated TG's wishes. Which is a shame, because if they had been allowed that creative freedom with using the books almost like a script for it all, and if the show had gotten more advertisement to increase its exposure and a better time slot on television - I am sure that it would have gone on for several seasons as there is much to cover in the books.
