thank you! the main reason I did this is to have a "track mode" and relieve any restriction on the exhaust system, thus gaining power (and a few pounds of boost) it is quite effective! I do agree on it being very obnoxious, though.

the 13b is an RX-7 FD engine, which came factory turbocharged. He put a bigger ebay turbo on it, running low boost. He's good bro. And yes the Renesis hates boost, however if you used forged internals and get a bridgeport its a lot more durable.

From research you'll need a couple more bits to make it work. Mainly HP Fuel Pump internals, Cobb access port, airbox, intake manifold, exhaust, tune and some cooler spark plugs before ya whack a great turbo on it

it’s a chinese head dash kit (works really well actually) and a Alpine ILX-W650 Carplay head unit, as well as two Sundown X8 V3 subs, and a Phoenix Gold RX1100.1 amp. not too heavy, but definitely hits the right notes!

Get on Mazdaspeeds.org plenty of good stuff on there. You’re going to read and learn: vvt + timing chain service, EGR clean up, intake valves cleaning, spark plug (run NGK iridiums), banjo bolt for your K04, and probably change the PCV (or get a Pcv plate + OCC) while your intake manifold is off. Also get a compression test done before modding. Once compression clears, first get HPFP and accessport before buying any single other mod. Mazdaspeeds 3/6 are awesome but must be maintained and modded correctly or else you will blow your motor. PS don’t run cobb OTS tunes once you’re modding. Freektune, PD, or dizzy all provide etuning services that have your car running flawlessly.

I see full boost at 3800rpm, and no. I daily drive this car, it’s very well mannered and very smooth and easy to drive under the curve. it city drives and highway cruises like a stock car with a much more manageable power curve until your foot is all the way in it. i’d absolutely recommend it for another speed owner!

thank you! and yes, this was the second one. I popped my first one after around 4000 miles of RE abuse, lots of launches, burnouts, slides, hard shifts, etc. I used the ACT 6 puck clutch kit with the streetlite flywheel. and yes, custom turbo manifold.

@@hock3y4lyf3 Hi, thanks for the reply. Did you use the series 1 or series 2 Transmission? I'm trying to mount my 13b re to a series 1 rx8 6 speed with act clutch and prolite flywheel but seem to have about a 3inch gap around the trans and engine bellhousing. When cranking the engine (when in gear) I could hear the drive shaft moving and I can see a couple of nicks where the trans spline was seated in the pilot bearing so I'm pretty sure it was seated properly. It looks like a fitment issue and the only thing I can think of is the series 1 and series 2 Transmission are slightly different? Did you have any similar issues? It's possible I'm just missing something blatantly obvious 😂.

@@nathanjarvis3372 if money/sourcing permits, i’d 100% go with the JDM RX-8 5 speed. they’re significantly stronger than both the s1 and s2 trans. but I used an S1 trans. all three of those transmissions bolt right up to the RE.

absolutely phenomenal, it takes a LOT to get the car to slip out at all, even with sopping wet roads. and i’m on some shitty primewell tires that came with my Rays wheels. with that said, the car even when spinning all four is super consistent, never does anything weird or unpredictable, always hits its mark.
