Hi, no this was an 8'6 i think, 5 fin box but used as thruster. I switched to an 8'0 superfrank a while ago which i like a bit better.

have you tried to without the foil?
@stevedale8873 жыл бұрын
Yes I typically go with a directional surfboard. I've only tried this particular board without the foil maybe once or twice. I found I prefer the SQuad, maybe a bit better upwind and less darty.

Different sizes have different colors. There’s also a purple one.

How do you get the board in those colors I’ve only seen it in orange and blue?
@stevedale8873 жыл бұрын
It mostly depends on the size I think. This was a 9 foot.

Nice , how do you like the setup since? Also I am curious where is the spot beach? thanks

I think drifters are pretty good for foiling, I usually use 12 or 10. Also recently tried a cloud which was neat, very fast. Still use the same foil, only one I’ve ever tried.

@@stevedale887 hey Steve did you use the cloud with cabrinha bar? I liked the way you removed the chicken loop ! Is that safe?
@stevedale8873 жыл бұрын
@@jmmolinari Hi yes Ive used clouds with a cabrinha bar no problem. People have told me the CCS bar better because it is light but i have never tried it. I'm selling my clouds and going with one struts instead, the relaunch on clouds is tough sometimes. I was using a rope slider with a ring and the fireball setup, but with the fireball removed. Now I use the modular bar with rope slider attachment.

Since then I bought a couple moses foils, a 590 and a 633, which are a lot more expensive, and a bit more specialized, the cabrinha seems to have a nice compromise between speed, stability, and maneuverability. In some ways I prefer it, but the carbon mast of the moses is so nice and light I dont use the cabrinah much anymore. The xbreed is a nice board if you want to use it for both foiling and surfing, but for an exclusive foil board its probably better to go a bit shorter and wider.

Looks beautiful there, How many knots wind do you need to get out on this board with the 11m ? And what is your body weight?
@stevedale8875 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks, I'd say 15 to 20, maybe a bit less. Drifters are not very powerful, some say about 1M less than the number on the side, but this is a wide board made for light wind so that probably balances out. About 150 lbs.
@vikingh30085 жыл бұрын
steve dale so 11 drifter would be like a 10m switchblade Can you get up in less wind on the cutlass in a lot less wind compared to a twintip ? I’m around 215 lbs and need 20 knots with my 12m switchblade, you think switching to 5’5 cutlass would get me out in less wind ?
@stevedale8875 жыл бұрын
Well it depends what size twin tip, but yes I think so. It has more buoyancy, and probably is less rocker than most twin tips. I have a slingshot vision 140 that it definitely outperforms in light wind.
