Thank you. I am doing this exact journey next month with a first class interrail pass. I've upgraded to business class also. Your excellent video has told me everything I need to know.

It is paradoxical that Bratislava has few much nicer and more modern stations in the suburbs.(Petržalka , Predmestie )Today's main station is basically doomed because the city plans to build a new main station in another place, but it still doesn't know where and especially when...

No, it is indeed the Saalach. The Salzach goes through Salzburg itself.

I like your comment about the main hall of Bratislava hlavna stanica! By contrast, the Slovak first class coaches look very smart and professional. I also like the station jingle before platform announcements.

As a frequent traveller on that line, some of the information was incorrect in this video. Pardubice is not the first stop after Prague, Kolín is, and Nové Zámky is not the last stop in Slovakia, Štúrovo is.

I want to take this train once the entire way 🙏. I only took it from Innsbruck to Imst and it was p much slower than a RailJet and the speed felt like of a regional train (140km/h)
@TravelbyRails3 ай бұрын
Do it :) it’s really nice. I wonder why the ICE is so much slower than the railjet and stops this often
@irnakkgd63643 ай бұрын
@@TravelbyRailsthe normal RJ (not RJX) also stops like that, but I guess it’s because that’s how it was planned (before it was an IC line, but converted to ICE probably cuz of old rolling stock, but also for extra money)

At Brno that was not a privately operated train. It is just that all the Brno area local trains which were locomotive and coaches to Tisnov and various other place were replaced by these modern EMUs about a year ago.

Nice video and trip report! But just one thing: Do not call those double deck trains similar to ČD CityElefants - ZSSK 671 a CityElefant. Thats a advice, because if you would talk with slovak about this train, they wouldnt be very happy, haha. You can call them Janošák, thats what they're called. :) Yeah, ZSSK 671 has more systems and its a better - upgraded version of these Škoda double deckers.

Thank you :) It's sometimes really hard to find the right names of trains in foreign countries, so I am sorry. I thougt that's a universal name for the train like the Stadler Kiss and Flirts which are called that in different countries.

in terms of services, Czech first class is better, but in terms of seats and comfort, I prefer Slovak first class, but overall it's 50/50 for me. Otherwise, nice video, try a train from Kosice next time. You will be surprised how the station looks if you haven't been here :D
@TravelbyRails3 ай бұрын
Thank you :) Yes for me it is also 50/50. Both are good. When I will be in Slovakia the next time I want to try a train to Kosice. But I don't know when it will be.
@Sabrey_GT_OfficialSK3 ай бұрын
I can also guarantee you that you will be intetested to see such a massive difference between those stations. Košice has been modernized and its basically a shopping center. (Not really, but you understand probably) The way Bratislava main station is so "old" is because of its bad placement. If you have been wondering why the most "important" station of Slovakia (kind of) is in that condition, thats the reason. They wanted to refurbish this station, but it failed. That is why i think that Košice is probably the best station to represent Slovakia, because it is modern and also big. Few stations in Slovakia are also modern, but they are small. The only problem in Košice might be some people. But still its far from Wien Hauptbahnhof 😂 @@TravelbyRails

@@simontv1520 yes I heard that too, that they don't have space for a bigger station at the current place. But if they build a new station it probably won't be that central at the city as the current main station. It is only 10 minutes with the tram form the historic city center.

Hello, nice video. You Can also try the main railway between Bratislava and Košice the maximum speed is 160km/h to Púchov from there are mounts. To Žilina is i think 140km/h max and from Žilina is most of the railway to max 120km/h (btw the Žilina station is under construction now. You can see it on Google and most of the stations from Bratislava to Púchov are new) thank you for reading, have a Nice day🙂.

What is the point of these companies? This one even uses OBB equipment. This is like Ryanair for passenger rail, right? These small private companies fail because they are not dependable, they have limited capital for equipment, personnel and maintenance etc, and because passenger rail is a public utility, it is not a for-profit business. Anyone who thinks it can be a regular business is dreaming. Many of these companies exist mainly to provide tax breaks for rich investors, so they may not even care if they lose money. Most of these companies are non-union, unlike the state railways. Also the state railways have many more requirements to satisfy so they can operate. So it is unfair to let these small companies come in and steal passengers from them.
