This poor family was put through h e double hockey sticks. An extremely corrupt prosecutor persued criminal allegations against this poor man despite the fact that he not only had a solid, proven alibi at the time of one of the attacks, but also there was literally zero evidence against him! Several eye witnesses in the areas where the attacks took place said they'd seen a green jeep leaving the crime scenes, which Douglas didn't own. Witnesses also said they saw a drunken man leaving the scenes of the crimes. Douglas didn't drink. There were at least a dozen witnesses refuting the victim's claims against this poor man. And only one person saying it was him (the victim). The fact that he was brought to trial in the first place was bad enough. What's worse is that 12 jury members conveniently "forgot" the part about reasonable doubt. If zero evidence and having an alibi aren't reasonable doubt enough, I don't know what is! Douglas's case went all the way to the Supreme Court and even those judges stood by his conviction despite zero evidence and an alibi! Unbelievable! The only reason he was finally released, and later exonerated, was because they caught the real guy who then confessed to, and provided details about, all the other attacks. Shame on the jury! Shame on the Prosecutor, the judge, and everyone else who should have released this man based on blatant, obvious prosecutorial misconduct!

Thank you for posting this. Sadly virtually no one has seen it. I've been through a false accusation and criminal trial but I was one of the "lucky" ones that was not convicted.

I'm here after watching the 1986 movie "Convicted". This family went through so much! They blatantly imprisoned a man with zero evidence based solely on victims who claimed it was him but couldn't account for the fact that he was taller than their attacker and didn't have a mole on his cheek which the real attacker had. And, get this, he had an alibi during one of the attacks! I am so sickened by this. BTW, I empathize with being wrongly accused though in a very difficult situation. A lot of very evil people blatantly lied about me and made up a lot of garbage about me in attempts to destroy my daughter's and my relationship. Long story. Very hurtful. Wounds like these never heal.

This is grim and morbid but here goes. My dad swore by the .22 (mocked in the gun enthusiast circle) as a professional's choice and proved this point by yelling me a story about an actual hitman (which irl are rare, if not mythical) who whacked four people with a .22 each behind the ear and... here we are.

Yep. The neighbors son. He raped and beat her with a rock and left her fir dead, went home, went to bed, got up and went back to her and rated her again and she came to and he hit her more with the rock. I went to court. He got sent to a mental hospital.
