I really like your channel but I wish you'd put the tractors in the results at the end. I don't know these people
@oliverpuller165521 күн бұрын
I don’t think that would help considering most of the tractors are either 1066 IH or 4020/4430 John Deere tractors. This isn’t Monday Night Football with little mug shots of each tractor to show in the results. It’s one guy trying to find the time to make sure the entire class is on video, run track equipment and manage to get several competing machines down the track as well. The only thing I can think of to alleviate your issue is to add the placing on the fly, which I won’t do because it spoils the entire experience of knowing who won before the entire class is complete.

Great class! A lot of good runners 😮
@oliverpuller165521 күн бұрын
Yeah, the heavier classes are gaining steam in the area. Unfortunately, it seems to be at the cost of the lightweight classes, which have dwindled at a couple events this year.
@Jason1Pa21 күн бұрын
@oliverpuller1655 Yes, I haven't pulled since 2007. I haven't really watched much either,but I noticed the lighter classes weren't very active.. I sometimes get the itch to get back into it,but with something heavier.

Do you have any new videos in the works? I always enjoyed watching the classes you cover
@oliverpuller16555 ай бұрын
@@tractorjerk1269 when time allows, which isn’t much anymore. I’m still actively attending pulls as a contestant, but most of the events require me for other duties to keep the show moving, such as running equipment or trackside personnel. So between that and throwing weights for multiple tractors (we took 5 to our hometown pull a couple weeks ago) at any given event, there’s too much for me to do and still be able to get video of entire classes. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some footage from future pulls that will be enough to edit into an entire class video.

That short wheel base makes it a rough riding pos. The key to productivity is being comfortable. John Deere figured that out. That’s how they survived. When you spend that much time in something you need comfort.

It’s been around since at least the mid-1980s, and reportedly was one of three built in this style, if I remember correctly. There was an article on this style of sled in the Puller Magazine years ago as well.

In 1990 I saw my first truck pull. On this great night, the local dealership brought out their brand new Dodge cummins. I remember that night very well. That Dodge cummins proceeded to pull that sled all the way out of the arena. It circled the bend in the track and got a standing ovation. None of the gassers could even come close to that factory bone stock Dodge.

The Oliver 88 is back on the track after a shed fire 20 years ago, one of the 460s has been pulling the last 35 years, one of the 560s is back on the track after sitting a while. The other 460 still has the same owner but is parked I believe, the M is still intact, but sitting. I don’t know about the other 560 and 460 or the Oliver 1850.

It depends on the tractor with those. I guess the speed reduction wasn’t consistent across all the models. The 766 had less of drop in gearing, so the tires stay “hooked” better.
