What's the difference between the srl and sfl hayes dominion a4 brakes?
@mhannah19852 жыл бұрын
Brilliant until you need to bleed and replace pads.... dont lose a bolt... it will cost you new brakes as cant buy parts. Bleed design is poor. Mine are in the bin. I was stupid to not go with HOPE like i alwasys have.

The forward and backward play on the fork on manitou machete, is it normal? I have 2 manitou forks the markhor and machete but the machete I feel there's a slight forward and backward play and I am not sure if this is normal

OK so basically the reverse arch doesn't really have any massive advantages over a normal fork. Also in my opinion they look pretty ugly

When manufacturers will understand that no dedicated mounts for full size fenders is unacceptable for such product. Most people don't use it on any fucking trails but surely all will get udber the rain. When this culture of no fenderism will go away. Nobody likes to drive with shit flowing on them. Cheap forks all heve it while all expensive don't. This doesn't make any sense at all.

You should just run the front hose in to the steerer.

Im getting a manitou fork as my next fork. Probably a manitou Markhor. I have a Judy Silver from RS but the coating is already wearing off after less than 6 months of easy use.

Just have my new machete installed and immediately rode my bike in the mountains. I just noticed that the reverse arch keeps the seals and stanchions clean. By watching this video, it’s really designed to do that. Very satisfied with the performance as well.🙂

I totally have a newton meter, like not! Why do I always have to spend a gazillion on specialized tools whenever I want to fix something simple?

Awesome design makes sense in everyway, Another advantage not mentioned but should be is that it also takes the weight of the arch and places it well behind the front axle thus keeping all the weight of the bike well inside the front and rear axles. This means better handling. The traditional front arch places arch weight more forward, almost ahead of the front axle, which means worse handling. Manitou is simply a better set up in every way. Too bad it's patented as I think would see it on every fork. Buying one now but very discouraged about the nearly 50% price jump since the world changed with this stupid C BS!

I like how the arch acts like a fender, keeps my fork's clean

4. (although minor): The weight of the arch is located lower and more central on the bike, improving handling.

Not enough points to justify a reverse arch. Seems like they are defending themselves just for equivalency. The only points i heard was the seal protection which I don't buy if the top fork brands don't do it and there's no way there's a good enough metric or science to believe so that it is enough to say worth it value added. For it to look retarded plus 99.9% of mudguards are not made for this design and you are forced to buy manitous mudguard smart....I got out of the manitou market just because of the reverse arch. I used to buy manitou high end and suntours because i like underdog status that can perform against the big dogs. If they want to send me a free one to change my mind I'm open to it.

3:53 Why give this bullshit example. You have obviously brought the arch lower relatively to the tire surface, I get what you're saying, and its correct but using obviously mismatched graphical representations in disingenuous.. Instead of this wanky excuse why dont you try lower and centralised mass as a selling point. You're brining the arch closer to the centre of mass of the bike-rider system and reducing the mass -turn ratio via steering input. Also sell it for what it is, a fork brace that better positioned

4:24 - I don't remotely find this to be the case on my Markhor; if anything the reverse arch catches all the dust and debris especially days I'm riding with friends or in a train. I have to clean my dust wipers constantly so it doesn't ingress into the fork over time.

3:55 Not only the distance to axle is shorter but also mud clearance is dramatically reduced and so is fender space, which is still usefull as the arch will not protect as well as fender and will not protect at all from wind pushing mud backwards after it leaves the tire in front of the fork. The distance/tire clearance trick is really shamefull. Real difference when keeping the mud clearance would be miniscule.
