Wonderful tutorial!! Saw a quick FB reel using this method and dug in further, ultimately finding a link to this tutorial. I’m guessing this approach can be used for all types of fabric. Thank you!!! (Subscribed)

I didn't see an explanation of how the 2cm x 3mm extra bits on the end mattered as you finally put it together?

I think it’s so it will go right over the middle joining seam when finishing.

I’m trying to make a wall hanging with fabric. The fabric is 47” wide. I want to make it double wide. It like a drape but I want it to lay flat on the wall. The pattern of the fabric is wavy lines of diff widths & colors. So looking at your video I’m wondering how U determined where to cut the length of the top layer of your fabric so it will match. In this video the pieces of fabric is already cut & laid on top of each other.

You need to cut adjusted cut drops (whole number of pattern repeats) so the pattern matches at the join. It is fully explained on our website here www.sew-helpful.com/adjustedcutdrop.php also with a full article on joining the fabric as well. there is a small chance you may have what is called a half drop pattern repeat fabric, there is another article explaining what to do if that is the case.

*I suggest a Clothes pin or chip clips to hold the shade in place on the rings, as you roll the rings.*
