@@malshiwanagasooriya3145 exactly. The way he speaks of his mother with both wonder and disgust really makes me think she sexually abused him in some form. Perhaps that’s why she left. Maybe she didn’t run off. Maybe Garland came back and found out was happening and forced her out. That could be a lot of the distance between Garland and Malcolm. Garland stayed away bc of guilt of allowing that to happen to Malcolm, and Malcolm was angry bc he thinks Garland is why his mother ran away.

@@CNVRSKDAJW They’ll always have my heart. It’s more nuanced in the book but still very much there. Ritchie even goes in after the book to get another partner for his act who looks remarkably like Eddie. 💔

My favorite part is when the clown advances on them as kids you can see Ritchie forcing Eddie to look at him and not Pennywise. If this is going to be his last moments, Ritchie is facing his ‘biggest fear’ and making sure that the last thing Eddie sees is Ritchie’s face. He wants him to not die terrified. He loves him more than he fears pennywise.

Her mother is a partying drunk who takes her brothers side even though she KNOWS the girl isn’t lying bc the boy is bound to become a soccer star, and her father abandoned her and her brother when they were kids and just came back into their lives. I can see how he became the monster he became due to the parental negligence, and how the behavior was overlooked. He’s absolutely obsessed with his sister bc she’s the only consistent in his life, and he’s crazy over controlling her in every way possible.
