I would make the claim that 0% are receiving spiritual growth from their church. In fact, churches don't find it in their own best interest to provide spiritual growth. Pastors and church leaders are in constant fear that someone in their congregation may usurp their power in one way or another. So pastors do all they can to ensure there is no spiritual growth of their members. And if anyone even acts like they want spiritual growth, they will refer them to a seminary to do so. "Don't come to me with any of your ideas without first getting a degree."

Well the good news is that Jesus is Lord God Almighty clothed in unsinful humanity and He is the author of *eternal life* to all who trust Him alone for salvation. He paid for all the sins of all the world at the cross (past, present, and future). That payment is put to your account when you have believed on Christ alone for salvation. *This means that saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.*

I remember hearing her say this years ago. This is so real. Amen.

Not impressed with this blasphemous display. First of all baptizing one into Christ is not something to base a comedy routine on. Second, dismissing a fellow Christian’s concerns for the validity of a baptism that you just performed isn’t the way to handle such a situation (see Romans 14:13-15). Third, the word baptism does in fact mean “to submerge”. So maybe, for multiple reasons, you should’ve considered the man’s concern.

Joni is such an encouragement to all of God’s children. If you do not have struggles then perhaps you are not in a true relationship with Jesus, because He said that in this world we will have struggles…..

the current church process.... we go, we sit, we listen, and we leave. when the gospel is not preached, and there is no discipleship at all, what can we really expect? the mental and emotional needs are not being met. there is no repentance.

God only has one formula for growth and maturity. We're not doing it, so we will continue to slide. God put all members of Christ' body in such a way so that no member would say to another, "I have no need of you." In a gathering, all members were meant by God to contribute for the mutual edification of the church, since all members are gifted by God and are to use these gifts. What have we done for decades? One pastor doing all the work while the rest of the Body does nothing in the assembly. The church has been adopting ancient Greek models of top-down hierarchy that came from their schools of rhetoric. The rhetoric model is why we use sermons as the means for the entire body to grow. But since it's not God's system, it's not working. So what do we do? More sermons, more conferences, more classes. In other words, more rhetoric. God's taking this system down. He wants people who have atrophied to use their gifts, and it will take a while because none of us know what are gifts are.

It's how you treat each other, and act outside of the church. Those few that remain, are part of the reason why most others leave. It's not about the church. It's about being their too praise God, and grow in your spiritual growth.

Nails it. I’ve been a believer 48 years, have led people to Christ and have raised them up, have given numerous Bible studies and have even preached, and the church I am currently attending has me sitting in the pew along with another member with a degree in Apologetics in favor of the elder’s 27 year old son-in-law who preaches like a technician handling a technical manual. And as far as urgency in evangelism, that was the first thing I noticed about this congregation- its complete lack in favor of a sentimental enjoyment of God’s blessings. They do a great job singing Hillsong type songs though. And there is no mechanism for introducing change. The problem is, however, it’s probably the best church to attend in the area.
