I wouldn't say Crazy Rich Asians is worth it. I still need to watch the movie, but I think it's better than the book probably. I did read all of Liveship in 2024 and I think the second and third book are worth it, the first also wasn't my favorite Hobb. However, those are massive books. :D

I like the seasonal version. I think you should give a second chance to Those Who Wait because if the author can pull it off, there could be some really excellent character growth and communication fixing to overcome those mistakes. Maybe.

Oathbound is also very high on my anticipated list, as well as the new Nevermoor that hopefully will finally happen and the next Godkiller book. I am intrigued to see how I will like that Nettle & Bone sequel, currently listening to A Sorceress Comes to Call and this is just Kingfisher at her best, I think, with these dark fairytales. Happy reading in 2025!

I gave this book a 4/5 after my re-read. The ending was epic!!! That makes it so hard to be critical about the book. But, we need to because Brandon can do so much better. He has it in him. Most of my criticism is for Brandon to get a better editor. I love the story if it was cleaned up it would have been so epic!!!!

Ugh get over yourself elephantsoup. My guess is you have an iPhone which means you’re contributing to a company that utilizes slave labor to acquire the materials to make its phone, and if it’s not an iPhone you probably wear Nike shoes, and if not it’s probably something else. We read books, not publishers and if you’re going to logically consistent would be to live like the Amish. So take seat. and you ma’am.. grow a backbone. You folded so quickly for a random persons idiocy on the internet you might as well rename your channel Oragami. And stop with judging a books merit by the color of the skin of the author.. that’s racism plain and simple. So whatever you said I don’t agree with on that principle alone

When I looked at the fantasy list, I also had this meh feeling. It is great that the list reflects how diverse fantasy as a genre is, and I was really happy we finally got over the Greek myth retellings this year, but yeah, I would have wished for more epic books as choices. I really don't take these awards seriously, but sometimes it is a possibility to find a new book a bit further down the list. However, you are correct, nobody was surprised to see Stephen King and Sarah J Maas win.
